When the window closes we will explain the how the tides were affected by the prevailing winds.
Just don’t forget we started this summer with clarity. Bouaddi, Anderson, and renewals. No Neto no Mbaye no Camavinga etc.

Savinho, Tijani Reijnders, Nico Gonzalez, Rico Lewis, Nathan Ake, and James Trafford have all been made available for transfer. There’s an expectation they will all be gone by the end of the window.

Manchester City continue to be linked with footballers they have no interest in pursuing this summer. So far the list has included Ibrahim Mbaye, Pedro Neto, Enzo Fernandez, El Junior Kroupi, Eduardo Camavinaga and Marc Cucurella prior to his move to Real Madrid.
There are at least two targets who Manchester City are actively discussing who have had no mentions in the media thus far. One is a Premier League midfielder and one is a La Liga forward.

Why are you still listening to this chancer? City are trying to sign Enzo F. This guy was soft launching Wharton rumours

The external narratives shaped and formed by media outlets and subsequently parroted by people online do not fit the internal machinations at Manchester City.
Be under no illusions, Khaldoon Al Mubarak is not a man prone to knee jerk reactions. He is a man who plans in advance, then ruthlessly executes those plans. Doubting him is a fool’s errand.

Our “For You” tab is an army of people talking about our account. Everything will reveal itself over time, just remember that we aren’t selling you anything. We’re not asking you for money. We’re not promoting betting companies. We’re not selling clicks to a media platform openly hostile towards Manchester City. Good faith will always prevail over bad intentions. Choose your partners wisely, because the wrong ones will leave you covered in a stench you can’t remove.

Manchester City have swiftly rejected Barcelona’s third bid for Rodri. The price remains the price.
For those asking about our earlier position in not naming a price: the reality is both the player and his agent have created a bad smell and Manchester City would rather clean house than allow a bad smell to linger. But it will be on their terms.
The player also finally showed the courage to express his desires to Enzo Maresca yesterday. Any sale of Rodri will send Manchester City back into the market for a midfielder.

Ayyoub Bouaddi has no intention of spending a season on loan at Lille. He wants to come to Manchester this summer, and that is what negotiations with Lille are based around.

For clarity. Manchester City will NOT sign Enzo Fernandez or Pedro Neto in this summer's transfer window.
Also, currently, Barcelona are nowhere near reaching an agreement with Manchester City for Rodri. Their initial offer was derisory and contrary to reports, they have not returned with an acceptable bid.

Agents and influencers are working very hard but Manchester City have no interest in Pedro Neto. It remains to be seen if Enzo Maresca sanctions the sale of Savinho. Currently it feels unlikely.

Manchester City continue to be linked with Enzo Fernandez whilst holding no interest in the player. Their contingency midfielder is based in the Premier League but it isn’t the Chelsea player.

Another central midfield target is emerging for Manchester City. Ayyoub Bouaddi.
It is unlikely that any progress can be made with him until after the World Cup, but the club are comfortable with this as they want monitor his performances. It is a position in which the club do not want to sign developmental players, so they have to be sure that he is ready for the Premier League. They are also acutely aware of the number of clubs vying for his signature.
A reminder that whilst Sandro Tonali is desperate to join Manchester City, the club themselves haven't decided yet who their primary target will be for the second midfield berth.

Aside from Savinho, there is now concrete interest in Omar Marmoush and Tijani Reijnders from clubs in England and in Europe. Manchester City believes it is a seller's market this summer and is confident of securing incredibly competitive fees for any players they sell.
Nico Gonzalez's situation is a little more complicated. At the end of last season, he informed the club of his desire to find regular first-team football. However, the arrival of Enzo Maresca has given him pause, even with the potential arrival of Ayyoub Bouaddi. There are clubs in England and in Europe who are seriously interested in him, and should he and City open the door, offers would arrive.

Lot’s people crying we should name the midfielder. It’s not our job to do the job of people who get paid to report on transfers. We’re sure certain writers would love that name but we aren’t going to provide it. If that upsets you, unfollow.

Ayyoub Boudddi is in the final stages. After that sales of Savinho and Reijnders will facilitate further incomings. Enzo Maresca is delighted with his squad in most aspects and where he wants reinforcements, the club are actively working. It is worth noting that very few Premier League rival clubs have made significant squad additions so far this window.

Please do not mistake what we say for an attack on hard working journalists who have sources they trust. Manchester City have not named a price which is why all reporting suggests a price around a certain figure or a starting point of a certain figure. There’s nuance to this situation because naming a price is tantamount to telling the player he can leave, and currently the club do not wish to do that. The final decision will lie with Khaldoon Al Mubarak and Ferran Soriano. Only they can sanction this sale and only they can name a price.

Manchester City have had no contact from Real Madrid since their initial enquiry into Rodri was swiftly rebuffed. Similarly, there has been no contact between Ferran Soriano, Hugo Viana, and Rodri's agent.
The club expect him back next week, at which point they will ascertain his appetite to renew his contract at the level that Manchester City are prepared to go to. The internal stance remains that he is not for sale unless the offer is "obscene".
