It's clear that "eat out to help out" increased infections - given no vax & imminent return to work, uni & school, this was reckless and stupid - as Edmonds said. No one is claiming that scheme was singlehandedly reponsible for eventual lockdowns. 1/2 academic.oup.com/ej/article/…

Both hospital admissions and Zoe prevalence data suggesting the falls we've seen in covid prevelance are levelling off. If there was something social you were planning to do then around now is probably the lowest risk time there will be for a while.

The evidence before the Grenfell Tower Inquiry has set out in detail how an obsession with deregulation completely undermined safety. But the fire has been exceptionalised, the lessons ignored and 5.5 years on politicians are still calling for another bonfire.

This looks like a good appointment at an important moment for the rights of disabled residents in social housing tower blocks. Baroness Grey-Thompson championed this issue in the House of Lords, imagine she will do the same here. local.gov.uk/about/news/baro…

Lithium Ion Battery sent into thermal runaway to demonstrate the risk, just note how highly directional the flames are when the gasses ignite! It doesn’t need to be a nail or a screw pushed in, it could simply be overcharging an e-scooter which causes this effect in your home.

All people should be provided with a means of evacuation from all buildings without reliance on the fire service. The fire service should only be utilised for supporting evacuation under emergency scenarios where primary methods of evacuation have failed.
'The government based its decision to reject the key GTI recommendation on the views of those without experience of PEEPs. If the government was serious, it would challenge – not perpetuate – misconceptions', writes Prof Ed Galea in ‘Inside Housing’ insidehousing.co.uk/comment/…
