What, no Bakers Cafe 33 in Canton?
A good steakhouse is the kind of place people keep recommending for twenty years.

Cleveland Guardians working out at Rate Field. They trail 2-0. Boyz II Men’s “End of The Road” just happens to be playing over the stadium speakers. #WhiteSox #GuardsBall #MLB

I am bookmarking this tweet and all of the replies. If the Guardians win I will never let you hear the end of it. If the White Sox win you'll never see or hear from me.

1) we didn’t slow it down. Most of the songs are about as we played them live.
2) records are not live shows. Live music has an energy all its own, and sometimes adrenaline can push the tempo.
I just asked my ten-year-old son this question and he was adamant “captain of a losing team, because I’m a control freak”. I asked him “But doesn’t that reflect bad on you since you lost”, and he said “Don’t care.” Hmmmm.
Nowadays my favorite REM “albums” are the early bootleg live shows from 1981-82 when they were a hyper-rockin’ high tempo punk/party band. It’s such a revelation to hear future album classics like “Rockville” and “Romance” done in a fast style, and it’s really all the REM I need.
Reckoning at #2 might surprise a few

^^^ That whole set right there is a rockin’ partyin’ pogoin’ mumblin’ good time. After that go listen to the Tyrone’s and Fridays sets they did in 1981. THEN go listen to Murmur again and wonder why the heck they decided to slow everything down so much.
I always thought Giuseppe was supposed to be Joe Dolce of “Shaddap You Face” fame. Because he says “Whatsa matter you?” and his name is Giuseppe just like in the song.
TIL “Outdoor Miner” is about an insect, not a coal miner.
Say what you will about post-punk, it had something punk never did: genuinely bizarre and intellectualized ideas - with brilliant pop hooks.
