Here is a 2018 oped by my @BrennanCenter colleagues @SMoralesDoyle and Chisun Lee criticizing NY for having "some of the most retrograde voting laws & practices in the nation." Fortunately, NY has been moving in the right direction. It has more work to do. theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv…

A reminder as we see historic turnout across New York City for early voting this morning:
For years, Republicans in the New York State Senate blocked legislation allowing early voting.
Democrats took the Senate back last year and passed it.

1/ I've worked in tech policy for a decade. In most rooms, I'm usually the only Latino - almost always the only Latinx immigrant.
If you care about immigrants or Latinx people, if you care about kids, I need you to care about Palantir's IPO next Tuesday.

My brother's service @withfriends helps small businesses start membership programs & they just built a new tool to help folks nominate local spots that they love. I nominated my favorite ridgewood restaurant/momo shop. You can nominate a place too at: withfriends.co/invite
If you're interested in the nitty-gritty of what they're working on, I'd recommend checking out: producthunt.com/posts/withfr… and upvoting if you're feeling kind!

If you are a tech person having an epiphany about the climate, some thoughts:
- Don’t launch a startup about it without a LOT of validation from non-tech experts
- Convince your company to stop making tech for fossil fuel companies 1st
- The final boss is extractive capitalism
My brother on isolation and community in pandemic times
Really enjoyed listening to this episode of the @theintercept. I currently live with 5 other people, and have thought a lot since lockdown about how different my experience of our current isolation is. This episode gives voice to these differences.
