Eve Cable

Took home a silver @caj award this weekend for my story about post majority support services in the @easterndoor which was written as part of the @ChildSpotlight reporting project! – at Ottawa, Ontario

She looks just like my lil guy did when he was a baby 😭

The first #EveryChildMatters march in Montreal saw around 10,000 attendees, but this year, the Native Women's Shelter told @easterndoor that they estimate only around 2,000 people attended. @NakusetS shared with us the importance of showing up here (more vids on our TikTok!)

Some more from Orange Shirt Day in Montreal today — @jdutchermusic singing and Barbara Diabo hoop dancing. “We are not footnotes in history, we are human beings with a right to self determination, a right to human rights, and a right to live freely,” @EllenGabriel1 to attendees.

Starting Truth and Reconciliation Day at the former Royal Victoria Hospital site where supporters of the Mohawk Mothers are tying orange ribbons to the fence honouring the survivors of experiments at the Alan Memorial Hospital. Security is watching on the other side of the fence

Beautiful book launch from @EllenGabriel1 and @SeanCarleton in Montreal last night for When The Pine Needles Fall with @SamirS_H and Wanda Gabriel alongside them on stage. Too many wonderful moments to even describe here :)

Day two of the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal motion hearing concerning @CaringSociety non-compliance motion on Jordan’s Principle. Submissions heard from Canada, AFN, and the Commission already, hearing now from Crystal Reeves of the First Nations Leadership Council

Celebrated taking home the Paul Dumont-Frenette Outstanding Journalism Award for journalist of the year tied with @TrevorGreenway at the @QCNA awards last night with @marcusbankuti and the rest of my favourite @easterndoor team🥹

So proud of our @easterndoor managing editor @marcusbankuti for taking home the @caj award for best community feature at this year’s gala ✨ his winning piece is online here : easterndoor.com/2023/03/30/l…
