Acting Navy Secretary Hung Cao gave the number to Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand in a letter obtained by CNN, covering the roughly 6,000 to 7,000 people across the USS Abraham Lincoln and its escort ships. Nobody died.
The carrier stayed out of port more than six months while flying combat operations, a modern record with no shore leave, and the Navy says the rate roughly matches the fleet as a whole.
A military official put it differently, saying recent carrier deployments usually see one or two a year and that combat operations with no port calls and constant alerts put strain on people that regular deployments do not.
Sailors described toilets and water fountains closed around the ship and hot water often gone, with one saying they woke up every day hoping the captain would announce a date to come home.
Whoever decides how long the next carrier stays out there should read this letter first, because the Navy is asking sailors to absorb something the service itself has not figured out how to support, and pretending eight is a normal number does not fix anything.

🚨California Truck Driver with “No Name Given” on His CDL Released by Arkansas Highway Police
Arkansas highway police pulled over a truck driver who struggled to understand basic English instructions. Officers required him to identify himself — and the California CDL literally read “NO NAME GIVEN.” The officer saw it, read it aloud, acknowledged it, and appeared unbothered. The "NO NAME GIVEN" truck driver was released.
This is a California-issued CDL — from the same state widely known for issuing non-domicile CDLs to illegal immigrants. An 80,000-pound truck operated by a ghost driver with no verifiable name, sharing the highway with your family, should have triggered far more scrutiny. Instead, officers simply told him to fix a broken turn signal and sent him back out on the road.
This represents an unacceptable national security and public safety failure. If someone listed as “No Name Given” is allowed behind the wheel of an 80,000-pound big rig, we have lost control of our trucking industry. If California cannot even verify the identity of the people to whom it issues licenses, why should anyone trust that it has properly vetted drivers’ qualifications, background, or training?
All Illegally Issued Non-Domicile CDLs should be revoked.
At a minimum they should all be investigated by ICE during a CMV inspection.

I just learned about a 17,000-acre ‘spiritual community’ being built in Tennessee and somehow the same names keep showing up.
Despite how it may be billed, this is not just a yoga retreat. On Isha Foundation’s property, residents can build and own homes on 99-year ground leases.
They can mortgage them and they can sell them, but Isha keeps ownership of the land underneath them. Isha says this helps “safeguard its ethos.”
But you can’t simply buy your way in; for Isha’s Kamala lots, the primary applicant must complete Inner Engineering Completion.
For its studios and apartments, residents must be initiated into Shambhavi Mahamudra Kriya.
The primary applicant must also participate in Kshetragna, which Isha describes as a lifelong commitment to daily spiritual practice under Sadhguru’s guidance.
Tennessee regulators now describe the property as a 17,000-acre site, with another 102 residential lots planned for lease to Isha members.
How are they able to do this? Well, Sadhguru does not generally present this as conventional religion. He describes yoga as a “technology” and “science” of inner transformation.
Despite his characterization, Isha’s world is built around concepts like:
Shiva as Adiyogi.
Consecrated lingas.
Linga Bhairavi.
Karma.
Liberation.
Gurus.
Devotion.
Prana pratishtha.
In other words: ideas, rituals and sacred forms deeply rooted in Hindu and yogic traditions are often presented to Western audiences as wellness, technology and self-development instead of “religion.”
If you tell Americans “this is a Hindu spiritual tradition” they hear religion; but if you call Shiva, consecration, gurus and lifelong spiritual discipline “yogic technology,” many people hear meditation class.
