There will be no revolution in the first world because living conditions in the first world have risen to extremely high levels. No amount of educating will convince the average American that the risk is worth the reward when they're already extremely well off thanks to the blood sacrifice of billions. But it had a good chance back in the 19th century.

In the end, for the American "pro Palestine" movement, the Gaza genocide was an expendable piece of political capital that they used to win 1 midterm election.

Uniquely, two Democratic Party candidates competed for the seat.
The Socialist Angela Gonzales-Torres soundly defeated party-backed incumbent, Gomez.
Bernie Sanders & Zohran Mamdani refused to endorse her, because of her “extreme” opposition to Israeli genocide, AIPAC and big tech oligarchy. AOC went even further. She endorsed Gomez, the AIPAC funded Democrat.

There is a very real, understandable impulse to just roll one's eyes and say "well Democrats aren't going to do anything anyway" but the stakes for human lives are just too high for that. I genuinely think total cynicism can be just as self-defeating as libbed out naïveté. This is a generational mandate for real change and we have to demand/require that our representatives actually do something with it

NEW: Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei says the U.S. midterm results would not change Washington’s hostility toward Iran, and warned that any renewed American aggression would draw a much wider response.
Reacting to the election, he said that anyone who still hopes party shifts in the U.S. will change its behaviour, or believes concessions can turn it away from hostility, is gravely mistaken.
