What if you could go through any scientific document like this? Pinching in/out = longer/shorter explanation Swiping left/right = easier/more technical explanation I currently keep yelling “explain simpler, shorter, etc.” to AI when studying

One of these is actually a brilliant idea with cool demos and use cases. The other one shows playing a vertical piano?

We’re glowing with excitement over the new MacBook Pro. You’ve gotta touch it to believe it.

"I’m probably not the only manager trying to figure out how to interview for people who build well with AI. I haven’t quite figured it out — but I’m scanning resumes and portfolios for little prototypes that exhibit taste, empathy, and principled thinking." So exciting to be alive and coming into the industry during these times. This article by @felixrieseberg is an interesting read, can recommend
The coding interview is dead, at least for my team at Anthropic. I've seen enough to know that it no longer provides signal. I removed it from loops this month. I have a spicy, optimistic take - I think there's an opportunity for junior engineers: felixrieseberg.com/hunger-be…

I am biased, but isn't she pretty? Now I can use the app to study for my numerical methods lecture, right?
Designers should make bolder interaction bets. Some examples in my note taking app: 1. automatic detection if you want a pen or a marker based on if you're drawing on top of text or not, and the angle of your Apple Pencil 2. every note can be an infinite canvas, if you want it to. there is no toggle, you see the border of the A4 page, but if you choose to ignore it, they fade away 3. all the interactions you have with AI show up in a Arc-style sidebar, grouped by conversations (showing soon)

The disproof of ETH is HUGE. To me, it feels even bigger than the 700 previously solved problems because it's directly connected to what I study every day. I spent the last year with graph and complexity theory, both are impacted by this. There's not many points in time where lectures of foundational theory like complexity have to be adapted. This is most likely one of those. I don't know anything about harmonic analysis or quantum field theory, but if those are of a similar magnitude, chapeau
Announcing three major scientific discoveries, one each in mathematics (harmonic analysis), computer science (complexity theory), and physics (quantum field theory). AI starting to help us improve our understanding of the universe! openai.com/index/building-sc…

Day 16/ You can now cache for 12h in the API and for logged in users across Codex & Work we keep cache forever and you don’t have any penalty for coming back to an old conversation or resuming after a few hours and are now guaranteed to hit the cache.
You can now choose 12-hour prompt caching in the API. Persistent agents, like dots, reuse context throughout the day. You can keep shared instructions, tools, and context cached longer and pay the lower cached-input rate, even when requests are hours apart.

We can’t be serious If someone showed that to me I would think it’s some sort of setup or satire but that was just me today wanting to sleep a little longer.
Apple surely will continue to work on Siri AI and there are moments where it is super useful. My average experience though currently looks like this, and reliability is the most important aspect with a personal assistant

We're at this weird point where it's often easier to vibe-code your software than to find an existing solution that fits. Just had this experience. Wanted to use an old Android tablet as a 2nd monitor for my MacBook so I connected it to my Mac, told Opus 5.5 to code, install and start that. Works insanely good now, even when wireless

During high school, I've had 2 maths teachers; one who explained the easiest path to solve every kind of exercise, and one who only explained the intuition behind the topics. People got better grades with the first approach, but they got used to maths just being pattern matching to a routine they learned by heart that tells them what to do with the numbers on the paper. But maths is so much more. And I only started really liking maths once I understood what I was actually doing. I agree with @gabriel1. Exercises are the most important tool that helps get to that understanding and intuition, though. It's practically impossible to get there by only watching explainers; you have to do it yourself to get a feeling for what's actually going on.
Replying to @quasicoh
literally 98% of everyone in high school only do exercises and never understands any underlying intuition of math and thinks it's about the numbers on a paper huge mistake

Claude code is the greatest tool ever. But I miss flow state. Since you're usually waiting for prompts it's pretty hard to put on music and be in a flow state while you write code, it's just a waiting game😭

People hate change. It's a designer's job to see past the criticism and push forward into a future where, one day, people look back at the old version and can't believe they defended it. I remember people complaining when we got the red bg in the first place. I like the new version better. It feels modern and versatile. Didn't want to comment on this right away so that I could get accustomed to the new version. Turns out I did.

Everyone now “debloating” their TVs to me clearly points to a future where every screen is just a display controlled by your central AI
Vibe coded my parents' TV this afternoon! It was showing a sponsored ad before you could even get to Netflix. Gave Claude Code the model number, it found the TV on wifi, removed 25 Xiaomi packages and wrote a new launcher. Looks like an Apple TV now lol

A little macOS tool I created and use all the time when at home – say the name of an app and it opens that app, without keyboard shortcuts. Sounds stupidly simple but is tremendously useful and removes the friction of the cmd+tab+tab hassle to find the right app when in flowstate. I was told I should share more of my little experiments so here we go ;)

Went to bed thinking we would get a car that can hover centimeters above ground. Woke up and I have literally flying cars all over my feed. We truly live in the future, it’s insane
