Donald Trump says America is making a fortune, but Erin Burnett wants to know who is actually making that money. After Trump claimed the country was getting stronger and promised that gas prices would come down, Burnett pointed to Forbes estimates suggesting his personal wealth had increased by roughly $3 billion since his re-election. She questioned the contrast between Trump’s comments about the country’s economic progress and the reality of what Americans are paying at the pump. She also challenged his administration’s lack of a clear explanation for when or how gas prices would fall. The bigger question is whether economic success should be measured by the wealth being accumulated at the top or by what ordinary Americans are experiencing in their daily lives. When politicians talk about the economy getting stronger, what should people look at first: their personal finances or the numbers being reported?

Audience Member PUTS JD Vance ON THE SPOT: “Why Do I Have to Be a Christian to Prove I Love America?” — Then Challenges His Immigration Policies Questioner: I’m not even Christian, and I’m here standing to support you. Why are we making Christianity one of the major things you have to have in common to be one of you guys? I love America just as much as you do. Why do I have to be a Christian to prove that? You have a Hindu wife and children. How do you balance different religious beliefs in your own family? You made us spend our youth and wealth in this country and gave us a dream. We worked hard for it. How can you now say there are too many of us and tell us we don’t belong here anymore? JD Vance: If the United States passed a law and made a promise to somebody, the United States of course has to honor that promise. Questioner: But you’re pushing policies that hurt us, and they’re not even solving the problems. These policies are just creating chaos.

Robert Pattinson admits he was practically begging to join Denis Villeneuve’s Dune universe. Robert Pattinson: “Unbelievable. Can’t believe I got a part in that. I kept calling my agent saying, like, there’s got to be something. I want to be in that series somehow.” “I was doing a movie with Zendaya, and I just kept saying, ‘How do I get in one of those Dune?’” “Denis called me totally out of the blue and said, ‘Do you want to go on a call?’” “I just googled who Scytale was. And I thought, oh, if that’s the part he’s asking me about, I’m in immediately. I don’t care. That’s literally my ideal part.” “The entire thing is real. They’re enormous, spectacular, and the artistry on every level of those films is completely a sight to behold.” “The best cast, and everyone cares so much about it. You can really feel it in every part of the DNA of the shoot.”

Amanda Seyfried clearly believes Jennifer’s Body deserved a much better reception than it received when it first came out, and she thinks the biggest problem was how the movie was marketed. What’s interesting is that she doesn’t seem to have any real criticism of the film itself. In her eyes, it had everything: a strong story, great performances, impressive special effects, memorable stunts, dark comedy, and a very specific kind of female-centered storytelling. Her biggest frustration is that the marketing campaign reduced all of that to something much more superficial. Instead of presenting the movie as a clever, dark comedy about female relationships, anger, insecurity, and the complicated dynamics between women, it was promoted largely as a bloody horror film built around Megan Fox’s appearance and sexual appeal. That created expectations that didn’t really reflect what the filmmakers were trying to make. She also gives credit to Diablo Cody for bringing a distinctive voice to the screenplay and to director Karyn Kusama for understanding the emotional depth beneath the horror. To Amanda, the movie wasn’t simply about blood, violence, and shock value. There was a much more interesting story underneath it, but the marketing failed to communicate that to audiences. What’s particularly interesting is that she still speaks about the film with so much affection years later. Rather than distancing herself from it, she openly calls it a perfect movie and says she’s ready to return for a sequel. She even makes it clear that she wants to play Needy again. Sometimes a movie doesn’t fail because the idea or the execution is bad. Sometimes the way it’s sold to the public creates the wrong expectations before people even get a chance to understand what they’re watching. And Amanda seems convinced that Jennifer’s Body is one of those movies that deserved to be understood differently from the beginning.

Alice Cooper explains what made the Beatles different from other rock bands and jokes that they might actually have been aliens. Alice Cooper: “The great thing about the Beatles? They had a great sense of humor, all of them. And you never felt ego with those guys.” “Paul McCartney would walk in a room and he’d be your best friend, like he’s known you forever.” Adam Friedland: “I have a friend who has a theory that the Stones never broke up because they grew up middle class. And the Beatles had to break up because they were working class.” Alice Cooper: “I’m pretty sure the Beatles were aliens. Because nobody writes that many good songs in a row.” Alice then shared something Paul McCartney once said about what made the Beatles’ harmonies so distinctive. Alice Cooper: “He said John and I have perfect pitch. He says George was just a little bit sharp. And that gave it that sizzle on the harmonies.”

My boyfriend cheated on me with my own sister because I wasn’t ready to have sex with him. Now I’m blaming my sister, and I don’t know if I should leave him. I’ve been dating my boyfriend for almost three years, and until recently, I genuinely believed he was the man I would eventually marry. One thing that has always been an issue in our relationship is sex. I’m not someone who is comfortable being sexually active all the time, and sometimes I turn him down because I’m simply not in the mood or emotionally ready. I’ve explained this to him countless times, but he often makes me feel guilty, saying that I’m not meeting his needs. A few weeks ago, I discovered something that completely shattered me. My boyfriend had been sleeping with my younger sister behind my back. And the most painful part? He told her that he started getting close to her because I was always denying him sex. Apparently, my sister knew exactly what she was doing. She knew we were together, knew how much I loved him, and still entertained him. When I confronted them, my boyfriend tried to explain that he felt neglected and that things just happened between them. My sister also apologized, but I honestly couldn’t stand looking at her. I’ve since disowned my sister. I told her I no longer consider her family because I never imagined she could betray me like this. But here’s where I’m confused. As much as I blame my sister, I also know my boyfriend was the one who made a commitment to me. He was supposed to respect me, not go behind my back and sleep with someone in my own family. Part of me feels like I should leave him immediately, but another part of me keeps thinking that if my sister hadn’t entertained him, maybe none of this would have happened. My friends are telling me I’m blaming the wrong person, but I feel like both of them destroyed my trust. So please, am I wrong for disowning my sister? And should I break up with my boyfriend, or is there any reason to give him another chance?

Scott Jennings GOES AFTER Ilhan Omar Over Her Immigration Story — “Why Does She Keep Saying America Is a Terrible Place?” Scott Jennings: Barack Obama and his administration are not MAGA right-wing extremists. The New York Times reported that during the Obama years, investigators found evidence that Ilhan Omar had committed this fraud. Apparently, it was the statute of limitations that saved her. You call her story the American dream. Then why does she go around criticizing America all the time? There’s not a single member of Congress who talks worse about our country than Ilhan Omar. Her father was a Soviet-trained colonel in a brutal communist regime. That’s how she got here. Speaker: She doesn’t criticize America all the time. Scott Jennings: She does, and we’ll roll the tape. These are legitimate questions raised by journalists at the New York Times and investigators in Obama’s administration. This is no conspiracy.

Jesse Watters OPPOSES Wind Turbines in Lake Michigan — Abdul El-Sayed Fires Back With a Warning About the Great Lakes Oil Pipeline Jesse Watters: Do you drive an electric car? Abdul El-Sayed: I drive a plug-in hybrid made right here in the United States. But the bigger question is why the president escalated a trade war with Canada that’s about to make our cars so much more expensive. Jesse Watters: You want to get rid of the internal combustion engine? That’s what the Green New Deal is about. Abdul El-Sayed: I’m asking whether you’re opposed to reducing energy costs and creating jobs in Michigan. Jesse Watters: Absolutely not. But I don’t want windmills in Lake Michigan. Abdul El-Sayed: We already have an oil pipeline in the Great Lakes. If that pipeline bursts, the consequences would be disastrous. You’re telling me you’d rather risk that than have wind turbines? Jesse Watters: I’m saying I don’t want to get rid of fossil fuels, and that’s what the Green New Deal does. Abdul El-Sayed: Let’s move on.

Bill Maher says Ted Cruz’s own candidate is worse than James Talarico during heated Texas election debate Bill Maher: “Do you think Talarico will win Texas? Simple question.” Ted Cruz: “If the election were over today, the answer would be yes if those Republicans don't show up, not only could Talarico win, you could see Democrats win every statewide race in Texas.” Bill Maher: “Your guy in Texas running near. What do you think of him? he seems to be sort of a malfeasant fuck, am i wrong?” Ted Cruz: “I'm not going to convince you to love Ken Paxton.,.but you got to admit, Talarico, i think is a very weird dude.” Kid Rock: “Thinks Jesus has multiple genders.” Ted Cruz: “He says God is nonbinary. He says there's six genders…that’s just weird.” Bill Maher: “That is weird, i couldn't agree with you more.” Kid Rock: “Maybe he's just gay.” Bill Maher: “But why are we inferring because he thinks Jesus is non-binary?” Ted Cruz: “He was asked, ‘Who do you really love?’ And he pauses and thinks and says, ‘I really love trans children.’” Bill Maher: “Is that the full answer he gave?” Ted Cruz: “He also says on video that his objective is to ‘dismantle capitalism’” Bill Maher: “I'm not for any of that shit, you’re right, i just think your guy is even worse. All right.”

Bill Maher Says Trump’s Own Voters Are Turning Against Him — “It’s Going to Be a Classic Historical Ass-Whooping” Fareed: Nate Silver says Democrats are now favored to win both the House and the Senate. There’s a 10-point gap between Republicans and Democrats. What caused Republican support to collapse? Bill Maher: Trump screwed the pooch. He got drunk with power. Somebody gets elected, and they go way too far with their side of things. Biden did it with wokeness, and now Trump is doing it with immigration. Fareed: Particularly on immigration, where he just let in way too many. Bill Maher: Absolutely. But Trump didn’t just reverse things. Now we’re going to be shooting people in the street. How about that? He’s lost even a lot of his own people. It’s going to be a classic historical ass-whooping. Sorry, guys. It is. Maher: The Democrats have a crazy animal living in their house called the DSA, and they believe truly insane things. But right now, voters have one piece of business: to let Donald Trump know they don’t like what he did. He went too far. He didn’t keep his word on Epstein, no wars, the economy, inflation, and gas prices. The message for 2026 is simple: Donald Trump went too far, and his party will pay.

Jon Stewart is questioning whether the strange stories surrounding Jared Kushner are distracting from a much bigger political picture. He points to the shared interests of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Israel in weakening Iran, while arguing that Palestinian interests appear to be pushed aside. He also raises questions about the influence of major financial deals and people connected to the Trump administration, including Kushner and Witkoff. But Stewart takes it further, questioning reports about Dutch intelligence discovering that Kushner had been hacked by Russian actors. His bigger question is why these unusual stories are emerging and what they could mean for American foreign policy. Are these separate controversies, or could they be connected to a much larger political agenda?

Cate Blanchett says leaf blowers need to be eradicated and her argument gets increasingly difficult to ignore. Cate Blanchett: “My take is that leaf blowers need to be eradicated from the face of the earth.” Kareem: “I literally saw a guy blowing one leaf.” Cate Blanchett: “Blowing, but where was he blowing it?” Kareem: “It was on the beach, on the boardwalk. He was blowing one, one leaf.” Cate Blanchett: “I think the rise of cardiac problems has gone through the roof because people are not doing the physical exercise. Making fucking kids do it.” Kareem: “What I’ve never understood, and somebody brought this up to me the other day, is why do they blow instead of suck?” Cate Blanchett: “It’s a metaphor for what’s wrong with us as a species, is we blow shit from one side of the lawn to the other side and then the wind is just going to blow it back.”

I think we have normalized spending too much of our lives commuting. Someone wakes up at 5:30 AM, spends 90 minutes getting to work, sits in an office for 8 hours, and spends another 90 minutes getting home. That’s 11 hours of the day gone before they’ve cooked dinner, spent time with family, or done anything for themselves. And in many cases, the actual work could have been done remotely. Companies talk about productivity and employee well-being, but some still measure commitment by how many hours people physically occupy a building. WHY ARE WE SO WILLING TO SACRIFICE PEOPLE’S LIVES TO PRESERVE A COMMUTING ROUTINE THAT DOESN’T ALWAYS IMPROVE THEIR WORK?

But then I came back after I had the baby, and then they were like, ‘You gotta get out of here. I don’t think tipping should be the responsibility of customers. If a restaurant hires someone to serve tables, that restaurant should be responsible for paying them a wage that allows them to live. Instead, customers are handed a bill, then a screen asks whether they want to tip 18%, 20%, or 25%. Now you’re calculating percentages while wondering whether the employee will think you’re cheap if you select no tip. And the business gets to advertise lower menu prices while customers make up part of the employee’s income. WHY ARE CUSTOMERS BEING ASKED TO FEEL GUILTY FOR NOT PAYING A PORTION OF AN EMPLOYEE’S SALARY THAT THE EMPLOYER SHOULD HAVE BUDGETED FOR?

“Do you really care about Charlie Kirk?” Piers Morgan challenges Don Lemon over Charlie Kirk’s murder, and Don Lemon isn’t backing down.” Piers confronts Lemon over his claim that some conservatives were using Charlie Kirk’s murder to generate clicks, boost their platforms and score political points. He argues that the grief expressed by conservatives he has interviewed was genuine and questions whether Lemon’s comments were insensitive. But Don Lemon isn’t having it. He insists he was defending Kirk and criticizing those trying to profit from his death. And just as the debate heats up, Piers brings up another controversial subject: Algerian boxer Imane Khelif and the Paris Olympics controversy.
