We are pleased to work alongside the Government of Uganda, @OPMUganda & the Chinese Government to support new refugee arrivals in Nakivale & Kyangwali Refugee Settlements.
Through the China-funded Humanitarian Assistance Grant Project, @fca_uganda is contributing to the emergency humanitarian response by addressing the immediate needs of newly arrived refugees.
The Minister for Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugees, Hon. @SamEngola3, this afternoon welcomed a delegation from the Chinese Government and Finn Church Aid Uganda, the implementing partner of the $1 million China-funded Humanitarian Assistance Grant Project.
The Minister and his guests reviewed the implementation progress of the project which is designed to support new refugee arrivals in Nakivale and Kyangwali Refugee Settlements.

In Kyangwali Refugee Settlement, teachers are taking steps to improve their own lives while strengthening their profession.
Through the BRIGHT Project, they are building savings, developing new skills and creating opportunities for themselves and their families.

31 of the 56 selected students for this years programme (UNICORE 8 .0) have already departed.

A new skill can be the beginning of a new livelihood.
Through the Refugee and Host Community Youth Empowerment and Transformation Initiative, Grace Atimaku learned baking and confectionery skills. She later accessed a loan through a youth savings and loans association, which she used to buy a locally made oven and start her home-based bakery.
