So the real tea- I didn’t have an outfit for this runway curated as I did the other looks. I had already gone over my budget (£7k) and I couldn’t afford to pay more on a big outfit because I went into drag race with literally pennies and still having to afford to live and obviously pay for things like rent etc when I was filming. What I had was a catsuit that I was gonna play off as Katniss and before I left I was so stressed I was like fuck it, if I have to lipsync at least I’ll be able to move and kill it. Then they announced the runway was world book day and I’d done really well in the rusical so I was like fuck if I actually want to win I need to look somewhat decent and before I left, me and my friend came up with the backup of using this dress that was meant for something else as a Gatsby reference which would have been miles better than a black and white catsuit. Do I regret not coming out and having something better? Absolutely, but unfortunately thats how the financial cards were dealt. Drag race is expensive so i will always advocate for spending where you have to, borrowing from those around you and spending the least to get a better return post show 🤍
