In 2014, the assistant director of the FTC gave a radio interview where they were forced to say the word “Buttcoin” to an audience of millions.
Be a part of a community that’s genuinely funny
$Buttcoin
Back in 2014, after Butterfly Labs purchased the old Buttcoin site, the FTC shut down BFL for fraud. The FTC later gave an interview to WSAU radio where the assistant director of the Bureau of Consumer Protection at the FTC has to say the word "Buttcoin".

We went to New York to SPREAD the good word of $buttcoin
The results are NOT shocking😂
Enjoy!
When I created Buttcoin in 2011 it was to highlight the comedy in Bitcoin and the whole concept of "Magic Internet Money". This was long before meme coins were even a thing.
My little corners of the internet here on X/Twitter, on the blog and the subreddit laid the blueprints for all meme coins that exist today.
In 2011, Bitcoin was something new and unknown, unchartered waters. You could have fun building a mining rig or trying to fork a new coin. It was the wild west.
And that's the world that let Buttcoin do what it does best, memeify the whole space.
Back then we were doing something organically that all meme coins do now: take something people are talking about, extract the exciting, and turn it into culture.
The technology to turn memes into tokens didn't exist back then, it hadn't caught up to what we had already built 15 years ago. But now it does.
$Buttcoin is the culmination of all that came before it, now tokenized.

bros forgot how to dream
if $lobstar was created during the 2024 ai szn it would be >$100m mcap in under a week
unfortunately for us we are in a bear market, but I haven’t forgotten how to dream.
Still believe this is a new primitive we are seeing rather than the usual ai agent posting slop
maybe i’m wrong, maybe i’m early. guess we’ll see in a couple weeks
This is how you gain momentum and mindshare.
Ppl love a game with real money as rewards.
Remember the NFT days when founders set clues, then holders would work together to figure it out, in hope of airdrops?
$lobstar will hit new ATHs soon imo.

my right curve $lobstar thesis:
lobstar is more than a meme, it is an entirely new gambling primitive where every reply is a new bet
people are:
- trying to write the perfect reply to get its attention
- begging in unique ways
- promising to do insane things for a payout
- crafting elaborate pitches like they're negotiating with a god
- creating tokens and setting lobstar as the fee recipient
all in the hopes that it will send a reward of some sort to them
it's a new active and social gambling game where each reply is another pull of the slot machine
the wallet balance of 500k is the reward pool that people want their slice of. As this grows, so does the intensity. more players, higher stakes, bigger spectacle
a truly novel experiment unfolding in real time
my tokenomic idea for $lobstar:
imagine if the amount of lobstar you held influenced the payout size
It doesnt even have to be some exact public formula. Just a generally understood dynamic where bigger holdings = bigger potential rewards. No exact multiplier, no public curve. Just the understanding that it matters.
I thnk this is a much cleaner and more powerful way to handle the "why hold the token" problem than buybacks
... is lobstar more than a meme?
