New faces and new projects!
A fresh group of students recently joined Ficebo, bringing new ideas and perspectives to the team. Together, they began working on an AI-based project exploring new ways to collect valuable data from patients.
In this video, Aneesh, Adil, and Noa introduce themselves, share their roles, and give a glimpse into the project they’re working on.
Stay tuned to see where their ideas take them! Read more about the project here: ficebo.com/post/how-can-we-a…
What do patients really want to know about recovery?
At FICEBO, we’re exploring how AI-assisted conversations could help capture the details that matter to patients: symptoms, function, and the activities that are important in everyday life.

FICEBO’s Thomas Ibounig co-authored a new JAMA Internal Medicine review with researchers Romi Haas and Rachelle Buchbinder from Monash University. The article highlights why common shoulder imaging findings don’t necessarily explain pain and why routine imaging is often not needed.

The 12-month results of the HARD trial have now been published in Annals of Internal Medicine.
The HARD trial is the first randomized controlled trial to compare surgery with watchful waiting in patients with symptomatic hallux rigidus, addressing a decades-old question in the treatment of the painful big toe.
Led by principal investigator Mikko Miettinen, the trial compared first metatarsophalangeal joint arthrodesis with watchful waiting. FICEBO core members Lasse Rämö, senior author of the publication, and Tuomas Lähdeoja, co-author, also had the opportunity to contribute to the trial.
On our website, you can read more about the trial, hear comments from the research team, and explore the key findings from the newly published results.
