odd objective you say
Replying to @flappyairplanes
Our systems work makes training & inference cheaper—but it also makes GPUs more expressive. The same framework that allows us to overlap memory-bound inference with compute-bound training also enables odd architectures, objectives, and optimizers.
there are some trades that are more risky *not* to take
The world of investable coins has compressed to a handful of names. This makes my job very easy.
We’re fresh off a duopolic minicycle of HYPE/ZEC. If you can stomach that ZEC interest was parasitic demand signaling for a new PoW token with ZEC as its host, where we’re headed is clear.
How many people ‘early to hype’ do you know that waited for the right custodian support, the right listing, or the right arbitrary price target that left empty handed.
The current $PEARL price is a reflection of the market’s read on the probability that things go right.
I’m an optimist. Finance is the field of optimists. For most of recorded history, people didn’t believe tomorrow would be better than today.
Think to yourself: what if things go right?

44% of public miners' MW is contracted to AI/HPC in 2026-28, as they pivot toward more profitable operations leveraging sites for AI.
With mining costs already near $75k and the 2028 halving approaching, this will only worsen.
Pearl's FP8 removes this risk. Instead of forcing miners to choose between mining BTC or providing inference (useful work they get paid for), they can do both: mining PRL requires the same matrix calculations as AI inference. As public companies that maximize the value of their hardware, it's clear to me that these players will mine Pearl in addition to their inference work.
There are three bull cases for this:
1. Store-of-value assets lack clear valuation frameworks, and hashrate is the "hardest" quantifiable metric available. While not an ideal comparison, Pearl, with significant hashrate from miners that opt in, would be extremely undervalued on this basis.
2. Alternative SOVs have emerged as alternatives to BTC, attempting to solve some of the issues its ossification presents. These assets have, however, been constrained on the network security and hashrate side. Pearl, by making hashrate acquisition trivial, removes this constraint, allowing innovation in newer SOVs without the security bottleneck. Like ZEC, for example, Pearl is also targeting quantum resistance.
3. Alignment. Assets like BTC gain value because others believe in them and give them value (e.g., why does ZEC have more value than XMR?). Just as naturally as existing BTC miners will provide security for Pearl, it follows from the same first-principles thinking that they maximize their expected value, and so they become strong and powerful advocates of the coin.
This makes a compelling bull case: Pearl, like ZEC, is a modern SOV that is able to react to a changing technological landscape, targeting things like quantum and potentially privacy. However, it also has no network security concerns, a very clear path for hashrate and network security expansion, and will likely have huge BTC miners and potentially AI data centers as advocates. It is also 1/30th the market cap of ZEC.
At the end of the day it is ultimately just a memecoin (like BTC). But a memecoin with an incredibly compelling narrative, and likely a narrative very influental entities will rally behind.

Google Cloud × pearl-2:native: get more from every GPU.
Soon, not every GPU. Only RTX 5000 series and up.
Our FP8 pearl-2:native miner uses custom GPU kernels tuned for Hopper (H100/H200) and Blackwell, including RTX 50 series. On tested setups it reaches about 99% of the theoretical hardware limit and runs about 45% faster than Pearl's own miner.
We also rebuilt the prover. Each block must be proven before it is submitted. Our prover takes about 4.6 seconds per block, compared to about 18 seconds for the public prover. We estimate this adds around 8% to mining revenue on @perynai Pool.

I've been asked a few times about how our RFQ systems work. Perps, spot, and soon-to-be HIP4 markets use different mechanisms. Spot is a simple OTC-style transaction, but the perps side is more interesting.
We want to give users a firm price in an order book that prioritises cancellations. This leaves some traders unsure how much liquidity is actually there when they place a large order, so traders instead use TWAPs or drip their orders using another method. This theme recurs across most of our conversations.
We think a better approach is to let makers and takers pre-negotiate a price for a given size. The next problem is how to open or close at that price in an order book. Some solutions temporarily flood the books or have users DM MMs to increase liquidity until their order executes. While this works in practice, it gives the user less guarantee of an end fill and exposes that liquidity to other traders. Plus, it's a coordination pain.
Our solution is based on two principles: i) give the taker the best price and ii) give makers the ability to respond to large orders using the same margin they currently have on Hyperliquid
For the taker's best price. If the best price is inside the spread or at the tip of the book, then the trade executes as expected. If the trade is outside of the spread but the given size would walk past that price, the maker's order acts as a price wall for the taker. So the taker gets the benefit of any liquidity between their agreed price and the book's tip.
For the maker, the percentage of their order that fills depends on how close they are to the book, the order's relative size, and available liquidity. The basic heuristic is that the closer you quote to the book, the more of the order will fill. We designed the system so makers can use the same wallets they typically use to trade. One interesting use case is using the RFQ to unwind positions more effectively.
The system is designed to be more deterministic for both makers and takers, providing clarity for trades that would move the book. The order book can typically absorb small/medium punts on liquid pairs. But as trade size increases or markets get less liquid, our mechanism becomes far more effective.
We're working on extending the request model to support multi-leg, multi-instrument requests. This would give a better user experience for the crazier strategies I've seen out there, and with Hyperliquid's depth, it is the best place to support this use case.
In the meantime, you can expect more pairs and bigger clip sizes shortly. Go trade: app.silhouette.exchange/rfq

I legitimately don’t know what to think about 9 successful tests of 80-81k
Bearish? Bullish? Paranoid mostly lol
I tried to find another time where we traded in a tight range and hammered the same level ~every day for 2+ weeks
At first glance, all I could come up with recently is Dec 2025 into Jan 2026
The analogy this time of course would be a fake out down (mid terms?) and the resume uptrend, as opposed to Dec 2025 where it was fakeout up (“new year flows”) before going down only through Feb (*right until the first Iran strike*… separate topic of discussion though… lol)
If you’re in Safe Trade, pivot to Paper Trade
papertrade pre-deposits are live!
papertrade.xyz
in order to avoid the launch trading congestion, deposit during the next two days to secure your spot at the starting line. once trading begins, account creation/deposits will be heavily deprioritized.
no need to rush - there is no advantage to depositing earlier during this period.
when on 10.10 will papertrade go live?
live trading will begin approximately one hour after the expected hyperevm network upgrade on 10.10. the exact upgrade time is not known beforehand. the official hyperliquid discord will post an update when the upgrade is about to begin, so keep an eye there for an early heads up. there is a small historical possibility that the upgrade will happen on the AM of the 11th.
PEARL is now live on BitGo. Eligible BitGo clients can hold, transact, and secure it with two wallet types.
🏦 Multi-signature cold wallets are BitGo Bank & Trust qualified custody wallets: segregated, bankruptcy-remote, and insured up to $250M against loss, theft, and misuse.
🔑 Multi-signature self-custody hot wallets are available for clients who want to hold their own keys.
Both wallet types include institutional-grade security and policy controls.
