Today marks 22 years as a boxing writer. Thanks for all the memories, sorry not sorry for all the puns.
My first try at making roasted acorn squash with maple syrup (the real kind, of course), salt, pepper, cinnamon, cumin and smoked paprika
Astonished but not surprised Mbilli vs. Canelo seemingly moving fwd as planned.
I truly hope nothing bad happens. Still a bad decision even if nothing does. Sends message that money matters more than safety. Then again, this is boxing — money has always mattered more than safety

Fuck's sake. They'll miss Canelo-Mbilli.

At this point, it would be brand suicide and morally indefensible for @TKOGrp and @WWE to send talent and employees to Saudi Arabia for #WWECrownJewel.
The U.S. is preparing ordered departures for diplomatic personnel and their families across the Gulf, Saudi Arabia is under a Level 3 “Reconsider Travel” advisory, and major events in the Kingdom are already being postponed.
So how does WWE justify asking wrestlers, production crews and employees to fly into Riyadh for a wrestling show?
There comes a point where the money cannot outweigh the duty of care you have to your own people.

We wondered if Zuffa Boxing would be a jarring counter-example for UFC fighters. Seems like it is, even if they’re not sure what to do with that. Some words. sports.yahoo.com/mma/article…

Tremendous example of the power boxers have over their own careers (thanks to the current Ali Act). Imagine if UFC fighters had this ability. How much different MMA could be. This is exactly why TKO/Zuffa Boxing covets the UBO model. Without that control there's no special sauce.

It's Monday, and that means it's time for the newest edition of The 10 Count!

Zuffa messed up royally by giving Conor Benn $15M for that Prograis fight. They set the market. Shakur had to ask for that - whether he deserved it or not. We see this in all other sports when it comes to contracts

per @Sean_Zittel.
today it’s reported @ShakurStevenson was offered @rayoboxing in Newark for 7 million💰he turned it down with asking price of 15 million - one of the key reasons why Shakur Stevenson and @Zuffa_Boxing came to a mutual agreement to terminate the contract.

More than 3,400 words for this week's edition of The 10 Count, which covers many of the big stories in boxing (and somehow there were a few I couldn't get to without turning it into The 13 Count).
Soon to be filed with @TGFGoodFight12
