I don’t think people realize how hard it is for those struggling with their mental health or profound grief to engage in BASIC activities of daily living.
If you’re struggling to shower, or get out of bed, I want you to know, you’re not broken. Do what you can, when you can, and let that be enough in that moment. XO, Dr. Jen

Famed soprano Martina Arroyo has died. She was 90.
With her luminous voice and ease on stage, the Harlem native broke barriers as one of the first major Black opera stars in the 1960s and 1970s.
She was also familiar to the nation's TV viewers at the time as a frequent guest on Johnny Carson's "Tonight Show."
In 2013, she was honored by the Kennedy Center, just one of her many awards.
Arroyo announced her retirement in 1989 and devoted herself to teaching.
