We just finished the kick off in Sydney of our year long leadership program with RANZCR. What a great group!
And that's a wrap on another Intersociety Committee meeting . What a tremendous group- the top leaders in US radiology-working together in Minneapolis. Very proud to chair this important meeting.

#Physician density has nearly doubled since 1970 — yet only 15–20% of #physicians belong to the @AmerMedicalAssn, and rural county #medicalsocieties are consolidating to survive.
In “We’ve Subspecialized Ourselves Into Isolation,” I explore how expanding subspecialization, employed practice models (now >77%), and proliferating specialty societies have fragmented our professional identity — often at the expense of local engagement.
From my experience in Eureka, CA, county medical societies still matter. They advocate locally, defend public health, assist with regulatory/payer challenges, and help build future workforce pipelines.
As we narrow our clinical focus, are we also narrowing our professional community?

Humbled to receive the RLI Recognition Award today at our Summit meeting. It was an honor and privilege to serve as the CMO for over ten years. The RLI has a bright future with Dr. Richard Duszak taking the helm.
It is a great honor to come back to the PRS meeting. What a great meeting!
