“Standing as I do in view of God and eternity, I realise that patriotism is not enough. I must have no hatred or bitterness towards anyone.”
Today, Monday 12 October, we remember Norfolk nurse and First World War heroine Edith Cavell on the anniversary of her death.
Executed by German firing squad in 1915 for helping Allied soldiers escape to safety, Nurse Cavell's remarkable story of bravery, sacrifice, and faith continues to inspire people around the world to this day.

My daughter’s school called me yesterday because she refused to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.
She’s 16.
When the principal called, I thought she had gotten into some kind of fight.
Instead, he said, “Your daughter refused to stand during the pledge this morning.”
I actually laughed because I thought he was joking.
I said, “That’s it?”
He didn’t laugh.
He said, “It was disruptive and disrespectful.”
So I asked him what she actually did.
Apparently, the announcements started, everyone stood, and my daughter stayed in her chair.
Isn't The pledge of allegiance not another form of liturgy or mantra. When I was at school, when we sang the national anthem, which was often certain children didn't sing it, as it was against their religion. It was after all, a Christian hymn...

HAVE YOU EVER CONSIDERED - hear me out - to let transwomen live their OWN life because it DOESN'T affect yours in any way ?! 🥺🏳️⚧️
Whose doing the punching? Not the trans people.

Being Trans is Biological
Most people think biology ends at genitals. That assumption collapses the conversation before it starts. TERFs are wrong. They ignore science or refuse to read it.
Human development unfolds through multiple processes across different timelines. Bodies and brains develop separately, under different conditions, responding to different signals.
Genitals form early in pregnancy. That early visibility is why people fixate on them. The brain develops over a much longer period, across pregnancy and into early life. Regions involved in identity and self-perception form later and gradually. That separation in timing explains how sex development and gender identity can diverge.
Hormones arrive in waves. They act through receptors, enzymes, and tissue sensitivity. Timing shapes outcomes. Receptor response shapes outcomes. Small variations can produce a brain that develops along one typical pathway and a body that develops along another.
Neuroscience has documented this for decades. A post-mortem study found that a region of the hypothalamus called the bed nucleus of the stria terminalis showed patterns in transgender women that aligned with women on the gender spectrum. Follow-up research showed differences in neuron number in the same region.
Brain imaging studies in living people show related findings. One MRI study found that white-matter microstructure in female-to-male transgender people before any hormone treatment aligned more closely with male-typical patterns in specific measures.
Developmental endocrinology already shows that prenatal hormone exposure affects later development. This is established biology.
Medical care follows the evidence. Clinical guidelines recognise gender-affirming hormone therapy as medically necessary for many people and set out how it is safely prescribed and monitored.
Hormones help because they reduce distress by bringing the body closer to what the brain expects. People commonly report relief, reduced dysphoria, and less anxiety. Many describe finally being able to live in their body without constant friction.
Trans people exist because biology varies.
The research exists.
The data exists.
The only thing missing is the willingness to read it.

Telling autistic people we're
“not actually autistic” because we
don’t need 24/7 care isn’t concern
it’s ableism. You don’t get to erase
our diagnoses just because we don’t
fit your stereotype. We’re not the
problem. Your ignorance is.

I’m autistic. Not because of Tylenol.
Not because of vaccines.
Not because of some headline.
I’m autistic because that’s how
my brain works. Stop treating us
like a problem. Start listening to us.

... I quite understand the updating the currency, however, it was QUEER as not GAY as. Queer in the original sense meant strange, out of the ordinary or suspect. Gay simply meant happy. "Happy as a $3 bill doesn't make sense. "
Speaker Johnson may be suspect but not cos he's gay
So often I will read a report where they will say "a 27 year old female...." Or a 65 year old man..." and I think, who cares how old they are. But here is an instance when it makes a difference
