Wanted to dress as something truly terrifying this Halloween. So I went as HomeTax. 🏠💀 If you run a business in Korea, you know.

This is an event I had wanted to run for a long time. I kept coming back to the idea, but never really knew how to approach it, so I kept postponing it. On September 28, we finally did it at @dev_korea: Accessibility, live, at AWS Korea in Gangnam, with a bit more than 80 people. Most of us handle accessibility the same way: run the linter, check the contrast ratio, ship. Very few of us have ever watched someone actually use what we built with a screen reader. So we asked two blind and low vision professionals to show us, live. 👨‍💻 Inho Seo walked us through his day: KakaoTalk, maps, his IDE, SSH into a virtual machine, VS Code extensions, all by listening. I challenged him to go from his home screen to playing ANTIFRAGILE by LE SSERAFIM on YouTube. It took him about 20 seconds. And he had slowed his screen reader down so we could keep up. 🌐 Chan-Hong Kim couldn’t even reach a price filter on Coupang with a screen reader. With an agentic browser, the agent got it done. His takeaway: a more accessible web is a more agent-friendly web. Of all our events, this is the one where I saw the most people really listening. Huge thanks to our annual sponsors Habsida, @figma, Rezi and @NotionHQ. With no event sponsor this time, they’re the reason there was food on the table 🙏 And thank you to @awscloud Korea for the space, our speakers, our volunteers, and everyone who came and made the night what it was.

Letting @OpenAI Codex handle 32 different rotations of a pirate ship in @aseprite using the SpriteRelay MCP. Not bad at all! 🏴‍☠️

💸 Adding a subscription button is easy. Managing everything after the payment? That’s where things get complicated. At Shipaton Seoul × @RevenueCat × @dev_korea, @github_skydoves, Senior Developer Advocate at RevenueCat, shared why building a reliable subscription business involves much more than processing payments. In this talk, you’ll learn: - Why revenue tracking across Apple, Google, and Stripe is harder than it looks - How hard vs. soft paywalls affect conversion and retention - Why subscription edge cases and billing failures can quietly cost you revenue - How remote paywalls and A/B testing help optimize subscriptions without constantly shipping app updates - Why security, receipt validation, and changing store policies matter Whether you’re building your first subscription app or already managing thousands of paying users, there’s plenty to take away from this session. 🎥 Watch the full talk youtu.be/6Eo8Ex8csSQ
