Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming Mr. Wissam Al Hormezi, Team Lead of the @UNDPIraq Erbil Office. Mr. Wisam provided an insightful overview of UNDP’s mandate, ongoing projects, and objectives, and we reviewed the institutional partnership between UNDP and Kurdistan Region authorities. We value their vital work and emphasized the importance of prioritizing initiatives centered on social cohesion & coexistence, as well as strengthening the rule of Law through projects aimed at supporting institutional capacity-building for lawmakers, legislative & judiciary authorities .

Remarks by HE President Nechircan Barzani @IKRPresident, President of the Kurdistan Region, emphasizes justice, support and a better future for Ezidi survivors of ISIS crimes. His Excellency welcomed the launch of the "Survivors Rise Network" funded & supported by @YazdaOrg & @giz_gmbh as an important step towards empowering survivors to participate in decisions affecting their rights and future. Listening to survivors voices and involving them in decisions concerning their lives and rights are essential to achieving justice and upholding their dignity. Survivors deserve justice, recognition, and the opportunity to shape their own future, rather than being defined forever by the genocide they endured. The success of the “Survivors Rise Network” will therefore contribute to broader efforts to promote justice, reconciliation, and lasting peace.
