I think there is some nuance here though, because I’ve since found out that these seiyuu sections do provide at least some worthwhile commentary that ties in with uma musume alongside commentary from more than just 5th anni uma seiyuus (Hishi Amazon and Fuji Kiseki get spotlight)
To overseas fans looking to buy the book for the purchase bonus (hoodie and tshirt set): unfortunately the website to order is region locked, so you’ll need to order via a proxy. Each book comes with a unique serial code, so you’ll won’t be able to order it w/o obtaining a copy.
If you own the book and you’re overseas and don’t wanna go through the hassle of turning on a VPN just to pull up the link, here’s the link to order: cupick.jp/en/products/annive…
Set is 13,200 yen to purchase (includes shirt and hoodie). Preorders will be open until December it seems
The Uma musume 5th anniversary book has been receiving a ton of backlash since its recent release due to a heavier focus on seiyuu content over things that a fan would expect to commemorate the game’s 5-10 year long history, but just how bad is it?
I’ll be looking it over 🧵👇
Timeline of the games history, character introduction pages and music pages are kind of what you’d expect from a book like this, I do appreciate the individual commentary for each music track and having a laid out timeline for the game’s history dating all the way back to 2016
Starting off with the table of contents, you’ll get an idea for what to expect w/ the book: a timeline of the series’ history, game/music/scenario/story overview, 5th anni character intros, words of congrats from various ppl tied to uma musume, and 45 pages of seiyuu content…
