In tough times focus on learning. On expanding your skills. On following your curiosities. Investing in yourself will always pay off.

Decisions that have made my life infinitely better:
• Don't pepper anyone with questions as soon as they wake up or get home (give people space)
• Operate on a Need-to-Know basis (don't take on what's not mine)
• Share compliments (if I think it, I say it)
• Hoard opinions (if I think it, pause, maybe say it)
• Bring perspective to customer service issues (the person hearing my complaint isn't responsible)
• Be ruthlessly accountable and prioritize repair when necessary (owning up, apologizing, etc.)
• Don't be a right fighter (I don't need to be right; just knowing I'm right is enough - ha)
• Be wrong (delight in learning something new)
• Have hard conversations in real-time (no texting or emails)
What's on your list?

Words matter.
Pause and take a moment to consider which word you would use to describe the emotion you're feeling.
But don’t stop there. Once you’ve identified the first word, try to come up with two more words to describe it.

1) Cultivating joy
2) Meaningful collaboration
3) Small-scale experimentation
4) Grounding in purpose
5) Creating community
6) Frame shifting
7) Leading with empathy
8) Emotional proofreading
9) Making room for more voices
10) Leading with questions
11) Finding balance
12) Agility

I am absolutely convinced that a modern-day human potential movement must rest on a foundation of shared humanity and recognition that all humans have the same basic security needs (safety, connection, self-esteem) as well as growth needs (exploration, love, and purpose).

I'm a big fan of huddle #meetings during crisis situations or big projects. They're short, sharp and super-focused. In his excellent book, The Surprising Science of Meetings, Professor Steven Rogelberg outlines the rules of the #huddle See my #sketchnote summary

Nice, practical tips on creating #psychologicalsafety. I esp love this line:
"Some days it’s easier than others, but I’ve seen its impact...I do this work because I know it matters."
