type of guy who can hold intelligent discourse on the jhanas but responds "wow, fuck THAT guy" when he gets cut off in traffic by someone rushing home

Complaining is a (poisonous) trick of the mind. It says: "it's not your fault, there was nothing you could have done. It's everyone else, they suck. You were so right" Feels good to wallow sometimes. But the sun goes down, comes back up, and it's still your problem
Complaining is mind poison

I agree & also want to argue. There's something regulating for the ADHD-mind about letting go the false pretense of cognitive discipline and engaging on 20 things at once. Feels good man, which like as I write I realize isn't a good argument and is likely more cope lolsob the dysregulating methods of cope will continue until you learn how to regulate
I wonder if people on here talk about and perhaps need more nervous system regulation because this place is particularly dysregulating

begs for an eventual "the aristrocrats" style joke where, after this escalates through 4 meta-levels of replyguys summarizing gptslop meta-discourse, we all just collapse in exhaustion and figure "we should just have ppl over for cozy dinner parties and talk like human beings"
btw vgr has stated that his essays will be mostly or fully generated from now on this means you do not have to actually read this, instead you can have your own model isolate the core points and spare yourself from reading gptslop

The passage of Time is absolutely necessary. A lot of us are procrastinators. And a forcing function is a kind thing, in the end

Stand-up comedians press on sore spots. And people with a public sore spot can't hide it. They were made for each other.

This principle explains why trans people were so upset with Dave Chappelle’s jokes, and also explains why Chris Rock got slapped at the Oscars. The peanut gallery is mostly there for the drama, but those who know the lore know

Obama since forever has just generally been like a calm, reasoned, principled dude. Nothing political intended in either direction.
Obama is getting whiter

Friend Tasshin prompted a thought. when society deals with heroin addicts, sometimes we need to first practice harm reduction. I'm not asking anyone to condone their behavior, but I also don't think it's as simple as asking them to stop taking heroin. There are important reasons why those disordered behaviors are going on. In the case of a heroin addict, we might give them clean needles so they don't contract HIV and hopefully say: "you don't have to make it worse; you can stop when you're ready, we'll be ready for you". This is how I think of humans and war. If you ever had a kindergarten friend, you know in your bones the true moral status of war. But it doesn't help to say it out loud or rail against it; no more than it helps the heroin addict to tell them that heroin is bad. You can be assured, they know in their bones, better than you even. The issue is that something in us as human is pre-occupied with this. Tens of thousands of years and counting, we WILL NOT LET IT GO and that means something important.
setting aside whether U believe it’s possible, would U like to see world peace in our lifetimes? the end of war and violence and genocide?

Subcultures are elaborate jokes played on their participants. Shame so few are in on the joke

“Nano banana” is such a random product name, like somebody took 5 yuge bong rips, misspoke, laughed, and then launched the product

Paradox of transmutation. Not only is it possible that traumas are healed, but they can become spiritual assets. The healed person becomes knowledgeable of the inner world of human beings and can therefore become a healer to others. This is why even saints have succumbed to pressures of temptations that caused them deep sorrow and turmoil. A human who has not been tempted, who has not been in pain or shed bitter tears, is not able to understand others in their pain and sorrow.
Mythology: Chiron was a wise centaur known for skill in medicine & teaching. Poisoned by an incurable wound from Hercules arrow. He could heal others but not himself. Unhealable pain transformed him into a profound teacher and healer 👉 the "wounded healer" archetype

Quiet evenings where the wind sighs through the trees, as the light slowly fades from the sky and all of the bird sounds die down for the night. A dark, comfortable blanket of peace settles down onto the landscape. Back in the city, people are grinding out their takes, pushing their agents to the limit for their hurriedly important outcomes. Leave them to it. In this space, there’s a gentle fragrance of frankincense and nothing to do but open oneself to pure experience.

Every generation ends up out of touch. When you’re senile, what will be your most backward and ancient take?
