We went on Holiday around 1963 or so to a place called Lifton in Devon (maybe earlier … though I can remember quite a lot of it) I am pretty sure Ambrosia were based nearby … this is the car we went in … I think it took about 12 hours to get there !! As many followers will know … I still have the car

Unfreezing Local Housing Allowance would be a huge help to many
Exclusive: Over a dozen charities have written to Chancellor John Healey demanding an end to the housing benefit freeze at next week's Budget. They say: "Unfreezing LHA would also give millions of low-income private renters some much needed breathing space." Some of the charities that signed the letter are set to attend a pre-Budget homelessness summit in No10 in coming days. Andy Burnham called for an end to the freeze while mayor of Greater Manchester. mirror.co.uk/news/politics/h…

Do not get candles. Get a torch Candles can and do cause fires which are more likely when you are moving around in dimly/poorly lit areas

Seeing a lot of “surely everyone has full cupboards or freezers and more than three days of food” posts In away this os a good thing if only because it shows the lack of understanding of how many people live for reasons that are often not their choice

You can also be guaranteed that some of those making the claims about how “everyone lives” will have been first out of the blocks today stocking up with bottled water, tinned fish, pasta etc

Saturday tea time Ham, Egg, Baked Beans & (oven) Chips with Branston Pickle I still struggle with chips but these add great texture to the meal - crispy on the outside fluffy on the inside - and are easier to swallow

When Tony Blair did “Little Ant and Dec” just before the 2005 General Election I was really worried it might go wrong (as we he!) Well done to the teams working with @andyburnham & @KensingtonRoyal for having the courage to put their principals where people watch.
