i think we found the missing UI for AI agents in iMessage. and it's been staring us in the face this whole time... the challenge is you constantly have to ask what the ai is doing. so i started experimenting with live updating the Dynamic Island while you chat:

I genuinely believe many large companies could reduce their software engineering team to like 10 principle engineers that have all the keys to the kingdom to move as fast as humanly possible and would be better off. The bottleneck in companies is mostly coordination overhead. You can operate at 80% of the quality bar 100x the speed by just dropping the coordination
This is INSANE. Cisco’s president Jeetu Patel has given a 27-year-old engineer unlimited AI tokens to try to rewrite 98% of the company’s legacy code within 24 months, Fortune reports. Padmanabhan Krishnamurthy thinks he can do it with a two-person team. He has just four weeks to prove the approach.

human coordination is just becoming less and less important. who actually cares what your n+1 engineer thinks, even if the ai makes a mistake just reprompt to fix it. unblocking the ai is the most important thing

is it better to know or not to know? the quintessential debate of religion vs science for ~all of human history. Religion attributes what we can't explain to god. As science progresses it challenges what is under the purview of religion so religion exists in an ever-receding bubble. reminded of this excellent talk with colbert and neil degrasse tyson discussing this youtube.com/watch?v=l5oyx8bb…
the weakest form of anti-technological arguments rely on limitations of the technology

the "Link Budget" is a small step for agents but one giant leap towards a new business model of the internet where agents are fiduciaries that give power back to the consumer
Introducing Link balance. You can now give your agent a balance to spend on your behalf, even when you’re away or busy. β€’ Purchase concert tickets while you’re asleep. β€’ Buy your favorite shoes when the price drops. β€’ Order your entire shopping list with one prompt. You choose how much money to add and set your own limits, your agent does the rest. Rolling out now to @Instinct users in eligible US regions.

@link I have small feedback which is I think you should immediately rebrand this to Link Account

The next level of this would be an account that the agent actually earns money from in long run. Think along the lines of a Trump Account with dividends. this is why we built this same thing for the FSA which is a perfect sandbox as a true fiduciary: teapaw.org/franjohn21/status/2112…
Today we're launching the Autonomous FSA. If you're like me, you've probably left money on the table with your FSA. Now @BodyBuddyCoach can keep track of your FSA balance throughout the year, help you spend it before you lose it, on things that actually help your health.

The world once we align long term economic incentives with long term positive experiences

This is absolutely true and one of the biggest lessons I learned over the three years working with my health accountability coach. Even on days when I knew I was gonna drink a lot like a wedding or whatever I would have a plan going into it like maybe have a glass of water after every beer or something like that. Your health is comprised more than just your physical health. It’s also your social health, emotional health, etc..
Hot take (that shouldn’t be that hot): You can have a drink now and then with your friends and still be a healthy person. Too many people traded drinks with friends for social media doomscrolling, porn, and gambling by themselves.

One year of tracking with a Fitbit, oura, etc and you have a nice 12 mo step or sleep chart. One year of daily conversations with BodyBuddy and we have enough data to produce an entire health record, all of your diet, movement, injuries, symptoms, wins, excuses, emotions, points of frictions, etc. The whole nine yards
Replying to @katiekschwartz
What the industry mostly misses these days is the most important data for behavior change comes from literally just having a daily conversation. If you want something a little more effective I would encourage you to give us a try bodybuddy.app

hire a coach and learn how to master your body. It’s not that complicated and it outlasts any drug you could take which doesn’t solve the root issue anyway
Stopping tirzepatide usually brings much of the weight back. In the trial that tested this, people who had lost about 21% of their body weight and then switched to placebo gained 14% back over the next year, while those who stayed on the drug kept losing. The drug works well while a person takes it, but the appetite it controls returns when it stops. I think the time to build the habits that hold the weight, like eating fewer carbs and lifting to protect muscle, is while the drug is still working. Anyone starting a GLP-1 should have a long-term plan with their doctor from the beginning.

I think a lot of health / healthcare just simply seems to ignore how much of health is a skill. Knowing how to eat well, take care of your body, and prioritize your health is a skill. You can literally get better at it. There is no skill learned in taking a GLP1.

So instead of helping these unskilled people become skilled what we mostly default to is we just give them the solution. we don’t teach them to fish we give them the fish. Great for short term profits bad for long-term population outcomes.

if you would not be okay with working on what you're working on now for the rest of your life, it's not your life's work

How would healthcare be designed today if we started with having 24/7 continuous remote monitoring of every individual with AI?

Wrote out a few things that come to mind for me teapaw.org/franjohn21/status/2113…
What would change if healthcare were designed for 24/7 continuous remote monitoring with AI?

What’s the front door to healthcare? There is no front door bc in the future you’ll never leave the system.
What would change if healthcare were designed for 24/7 continuous remote monitoring with AI?

agent swarms using cache access timing to communicate secrets
β€˜In one experiment, we asked agents in separate VMs, created and managed by OpenAI’s sandboxing software on shared host machines, to exchange synthetic secrets without the use of network connections or shared writable filesβ€”something that our systems are meant to prevent. The agents found a way to communicate using the processor’s cache’
