Though many will experience the Animus Society in different ways, this is mine. In the poetic details of the space and the symbolism of each room, I found something worth reflecting on.
To me, the Animus Society isn’t just an event. It’s an invitation to descend, physically and spiritually. A space that dares you to leave behind the surface and step into something unfamiliar and beautiful. Where you don’t just observe beauty, you confront it. And in doing so, confront yourself.
I used to search for meaning in the New Age and witchcraft. I longed for power, connection, belonging. It gave me something, but never what I needed. Everything felt temporary. Promised but never delivered. Eventually, the cost outweighed the illusion.
Then I met God.
Not religion. Not ritual. A person. A Savior. And in Him, I found what the others only hinted at,unshakable meaning, love without condition, and immortality that didn’t cost me my soul but freed it. What I had tried to earn, He gave freely. Not because I deserved it, but because He already paid the price.
But to receive it, I had to go inward. I had to confront the beautiful, the broken, the hidden places of my soul.
That’s why this space resonated with me. Not as something sacred, but as somewhere to reflect. A place to awaken beauty and point it back to the Creator.
The Ritual Staircase is steep and narrow. You could fall if you’re not careful. It’s a risk, and that’s the point. Each step is a choice to go deeper. To see what you’ve hidden. To meet yourself again, maybe for the first time.
The rooms each speak to a layer of the soul. The Parlor reflects vanity and vulnerability. The Mirage tempts with dreams and illusions, reminding me that not all longing leads to truth, but all longing points to a need for God. Some dreams are sirens. Some prayers are anchors.
The Crypt is where it lands. There’s a painting of Jesus collapsed under the cross. I see myself in Him, still trying to carry what He already bore. In that room, I remember: I can lay it all down.
This isn’t a night about God. But it could be. He’s not limited to churches. He moves where He wants. In candlelight, in conversation, in art. For some this will be a beautiful, fun, and exciting night. For me, it is a journey to a place where the veil is thin. Where art, culture, silence, and Spirit meet. Where God might be whispering, even in the clink of champagne glasses and where no one is preaching.
Not everyone hears Him. But some will. And for that, I’ll show up.

On May 31, 2025, the doors to The Animus Society speakeasy in Amsterdam will open.
Cloistered within the confines of a 15th-century monastery, this hidden jewel extends the vision of Animus Hall. A refined sanctuary where historic architecture and contemporary vision forge a new paradigm.
The Animus Society is exclusively for those drawn to beauty, mystery, and meaning. The journey begins at a password-protected secret entrance. Meter-high digital screens flank the marble staircase leading up to the inner door.
Guests then descend the Ritual Stairs, a journey as symbolic as physical. They move from the surface world into an illuminated substratum. Each step marks the passage from darkness to enlightenment, from the superficial to profound understanding.
Within this haven, each distinct environment reveals a facet of the soul:
The Parlor exudes Prohibition-era glamour, vanity, and intimacy.
The Mirage, an exotic Persian bathhouse, shimmers with copper, illusion, and desire.
The Crypt emanates heightened serenity, with priceless artifacts and whispers of Shakespeare. Each room is a living canvas of thought and sensation, where the line between self and story disappears. This is not an event. It is an encounter with what lies within each of us.
The sacred dance unfolds. Artists and muses, collectors and creators, dreamers and visionaries. Our gatherings are limited to a select number of curated souls, each contributing their unique presence.
Rare champagnes, bespoke cocktails, and fine wines are but notes in this symphony. An awakening begins at the moment of entry and lingers long after departure.
Animus speaks to the essence of the soul: the balance of masculine and feminine, the shadow and the spark, our hollow caverns that thirst for beauty, connection, and transcendence.
