MAGA wants to gaslight you into thinking Ukraine is obstructing a peace deal or a credible end to the war. This is nonsense. From the start of this administration, Ukraine acceded to a unconditional ceasefire along the line of contact, and that became the stated U.S. position. Russia refused. So the U.S. position (or the Witkoff position, anyway) morphed into Dmitriev's 28-point Russian "wish list," to use Marco Rubio's apt description of it. Fast forward to the present day: Trump announces an energy ceasefire, which he did not inform the Ukrainians about and which Peskov and Lavrov have both publicly rejected. And yet... Kyiv abides by the U.S. President's imagined truce, while Russia does not. But all the ire is reserved for Zelensky.

For those still focusing on how much diesel Trump agreed to buy from Russia, IT WAS NEVER ABOUT DIESEL, and there will probably never be diesel.
It's just a foundation that allows Trump to attack Ukraine for striking Russia's oil industry, protecting it, because protecting the Russian oil industry is protecting Putin, and protecting Putin is to protect the billions of "deals" that Putin is dangling in front of the Trump family.
Stop talking about diesel. It's about providing Trump with an excuse to protect Putin's refineries.

Trump blamed Zelenskyy for the rise in diesel prices. In reality, Russian diesel accounts for less than 10% of the market, and the blame for the price hike lies with Trump’s senseless war in Iran.
However, another aspect is more interesting: Trump is not calling on Putin to end the war; instead, he is effectively pressuring Ukraine to surrender.
To be absolutely clear: the president of the country that signed the Budapest Memorandum—and effectively stripped Ukraine of its nuclear weapons—is now accusing Ukraine of daring not to surrender to the aggressor.
