For years, webhook.site has been using AWS SES to receive incoming emails. Today, I started testing my own incoming email server. Written in Go, using Claude, it took an afternoon to build, test and implement. I expect to save around $500/mo in incoming email costs

Claude wrote it so it matches the AWS delivery format exactly, minimizing implementation time. It even does spam and virus checking – Claude built in support for rspamd. It even built in Let'sEncrypt using Acme! It's the first stop of my goal to move away from AWS entirely.

When I was 15 I built a notetaking tool for Windows that lived in the system tray. Since I switched to Mac I've missed it, but I never made a Mac app. Now I made it a reality with Claude and half an hour of prompting. Building like this is so satisfying, like scratching an itch.

Er der nogen der kan forklare mig hvordan underskuddet for Vivino kan vokse så meget for en iPhone app, der er færdigbygget, og har været det i 10 år? Hvorfor skal en iPhone app have over 100 ansatte? Hvad laver alle de her mennesker? Hvad fanden sker der?

“Arrêtez! C’est pas la cause!” Watch this. Then watch it again. Carve it into your memory. The stunned look. The way she tries to reason with savages. The way she still deludes herself about what the “cause” actually is. In a few days, leftists will start rewriting this into something noble, a just expression of a righteous cause. The looting and destruction will be reframed as resistance. “Ce n’est pas la cause”. But it is the cause, my simple French lady. Did you really think this was about textbooks? The leftist media, teachers, activists, and politicians who lied to you never did. “The issue is never the issue. The issue is always the revolution.” And that revolution is hatred and destruction in action. You’d expect people who don’t understand this to finally get it when it happens to them. She probably won’t. Accepting the truth would mean reevaluating everything she was taught about multiculturalism, leftism, egalitarianism, immigration, and coexistence. It would mean admitting that much of what she was told was racist, bigoted, fascist, and xenophobic was actually just reality. Most people can’t carry that weight. So they’ll rationalize it away, blame a few bad individuals, insist the values are still noble, and move on. They’re wrong, but it’s easier than admitting the ideology produces this.
🚨BREAKING: A distressed woman is restrained by left-wing thugs and forced to watch her livelihood destroyed France has become hell on earth.

It's wild that a Danish developer created a new OS that's taking the world by storm, received $23M (over DKK 150M!) in donations – but our 🇩🇰 media hasn't noticed it it at all! 🫠 @dhh #dkmedier #omarchy

“Our experiments suggest that small AI models may be months away from being capable enough to self-replicate on commercial IoT devices, like smart ovens and off-brand Android TV boxes. A replicator like this would be challenging to shut down, since there’s no centralized point to shut off - though it may be slow (with a doubling time of days). Unlike non-AI malware, it could also figure out unfamiliar devices on its own. In our evals, a 9B model got inference running on 8 of the 9 hardware types we tested. Models of 30B parameters and under can already complete many of the individual steps for replication today, though they make mistakes when composing them end to end. In our simplified evals, GLM-5.2 and stronger models are capable of end to end replication. If small models improve at their historical rate, they’ll match this capability level by the end of this year. Small weight-based replicators may be possible soon after.” -@bucketofkets @willzhou97 anthropic.com/research/self-…

Meanwhile, zero entrants even bothered to hack into an iPhone for the competition prize.
‼️ BREAKING: Google's Pixel 10 was remotely hacked three times in one day at Pwn2Own Ireland. Three separate teams broke into the phone. Ikotas Labs chained multiple bugs for $300,000, the contest's top prize, and won Master of Pwn. Xint earned $150,000 and a CENSUS Labs and Mobile Hacking Lab team $112,500 for their own Pixel 10 exploits. Google has 90 days to patch.

Almost all of Danish living and deceased citizens' social security numbers, addresses and other private information was leaked in September. Now the hacker allegedly told a local newspaper that the password was "123456". In an interview, he says: "It's like leaving 10 kg plutonium in a train station, and a homeless guy steals it. Sure, you shouldn't steal, but you probably shouldn't leave 10 kg plutonium unguarded in the middle of the train station." Maybe maintaining high security in a high trust society takes a little practice. ekstrabladet.dk/nyheder/samf…

We’re rapidly heading towards a world where software is tailor made ad hoc. And soon enough, it’s not just software, but literature, movies, physical products and everything else you can imagine.

Opus 5.5 is great. It just seems to *get it*, the code it writes fits in nicely with the existing code base, it makes good decisions, clean design, well thought out. It's like a 10^10x engineer. When anybody can build any kind of software, where does that leave the industry?
