24 ZR2 LZO 3.0L DuraMax diesel; 70K review; 21.5 MPG life of truck (50% hiway, 50% off road & idling). Uses 1/2 quart oil in 5K (AC Delco 0W-20D). 800 miles/gal of DEF (no towing). Runs great, no issues. Follow GM maintenance schedule except 5K oil changes vs 7.5K. @chevrolet
Another example of wheat curl mites which vector wheat streak mosaic virus overwintered in alternate grass hosts in road ditch (downy brome/western wheat grass). Moved into SW edge of susceptible wheat variety. No vol wheat close by. Must plant resistant varieties. TX panhandle
Wheat curl mites moved out of CRP grass and infected edge of this circle with wheat streak mosaic virus/high plains virus.i can find mites with my 20X scope on leaf surface. Texas Co OK panhandle
There is definitely an uptick in Russian wheat aphids in TX and OK panhandles in irrigated wheat from last week. Still trace to light but increasing.
Finding a few colonies of 5-10, no damage found but would expect some soon if beneficial insects don’t keep in check.
60K update on 3.0L LZO DuraMax diesel: overall MPG for 60K is 21.2.
Had to replace #3 cylinder fuel injector at 55K. Covered by 100K GM power train warranty. Otherwise no other issues. I still like this truck for my ag consulting business.
