alastor executioner theory is such a thematic fumble it genuinely hurts me. to have someone so oppressed in life that they constructed their own demise in order to avoid a repeat of the hierarchies that had governed them, someone who understood power as something inherently predatory because they had spent their humanity beneath its weight, only to suggest that their violence was ultimately an extension of some greater authority rather than an attempt to dismantle the very structures that rendered them powerless, fundamentally undermines the tragedy of a character who would rather become a monster of his own making who refuses any genuine connection with others. it reduces his pursuit of autonomy and constructing his OWN narrative to another form of servitude, and strips away the far more compelling contradiction of a man who, in attempting to escape these structures, becomes an active participant in perpetuating them.
