‼️ Britain has spent years desperately searching for a growth strategy while refusing to confront the enormous economic barrier we erected ourselves.
Now the FT Economics Editor asks whether @andyburnham may finally be “stumbling towards a pro-growth policy that actually shifts the dial”.
Reintegrating Britain with the European economy.
Goldman Sachs estimates:
Customs union: around +1% GDP
Single Market: around +2–5% GDP
The OBR estimates Brexit itself has reduced Britain’s potential productivity by 4%.
And the really interesting part is that I nvestors are starting to sit up and pay attention.
This is why the argument that reopening Britain’s relationship with Europe simply creates another “dust cloud of uncertainty” gets it backwards.
Brexit created barriers, uncertainty and lost investment.
Undoing Brexit is the biggest pro-growth reform available to Britain.
Fixing Brexit may turn out to be Burnham’s growth strategy. 🇬🇧🇪🇺

BREAKING: COWARD ON THE RUN! Trump pal Flávio Bolsonaro has reportedly FLED Brazil for Florida to seek asylum after losing to Lula and dodging a court order to surrender his passport.
Like father, like son. Four years after former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro skipped town to Florida after losing an election to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, his son appears to have done THE EXACT SAME THING, only this time with a money-laundering investigation hot on his heels.
Flávio Bolsonaro, who lost Brazil’s presidential election on Sunday, missed a Tuesday-morning deadline to hand his passports to federal police. According to The Guardian, the Brazilian news site Metrópoles reported, citing people close to the family, that he was on a plane to the United States, would land in Florida Tuesday afternoon, and planned to request political asylum. “The Donald Trump administration has been informed,” the site added.
CNN Brasil reported he left with his wife and two daughters in the early hours of the morning. Allies told Folha de S.Paulo the escape was “organized and enabled by a lawyer close to the Bolsonaro clan.”
The route was reportedly cinematic. Argentine outlets said he crossed into Argentina, possibly on foot, planning to board a private jet in Puerto Iguazú, then ditched the plane once word leaked. Brazilian police say there’s no record of him passing any official border checkpoint, and The Washington Post reports officials still don’t know where he is. His phone returns an out-of-service message. His usually nonstop Instagram has gone silent.
Here’s the kicker. On Monday, after his passport was canceled, Bolsonaro posted a video declaring: “I never thought about leaving the country.” Yeah, right.
Why the rush? A Supreme Court justice canceled his passport minutes after the results came in, tied to a federal investigation into his possible involvement in a money-laundering scheme worth about $905 million involving betting companies. A family adviser told the Post he was “terrified,” worried he’d be jailed this week. O Globo reported he appeared “possessed” and afraid of arrest in a Monday meeting. His camp calls it political persecution.
The family track record isn’t helping. His father is under house arrest after being sentenced to more than 27 years for plotting a coup. His brother Eduardo, sentenced to four years for lobbying Trump to sanction the judges in their father’s case, is already living in Texas, beyond the reach of Brazilian law. He’d said last week that Flávio should leave if he lost.
Lula’s Workers’ Party has asked the Supreme Court to order Flávio’s arrest and put him on Interpol’s Red Notice list. The State Department and Homeland Security didn’t immediately respond to questions.
So, the Trump administration that deports grandfathers in their pajamas may soon be asked to welcome a fugitive senator dodging a money-laundering probe. Florida is starting to look less like a state and more like a getaway car for Trump’s friends. And we thought Trump’s goal was to deport criminal aliens, not import them.
Bolsonaro’s escape to a foreign country provides Americans with a preview of what may happen to the Trump family and the most infamous members of his administration once they are removed from their positions of power. Except the country they’re most likely to flee to is Vladimir Putin’s Russia.
Please like and share if you think Flavio Bolsonaro is a criminal coward JUST LIKE TRUMP!

“Do you understand who you are dealing with? This is America. Back up.”
A United Nations meeting was dramatically suspended yesterday after US ambassador Mike Waltz and Cuban foreign minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla both ignored the chair’s plea for order in the chamber.
The problem started when Waltz blamed Cubans for the shocking US embargoes and blockades that are causing huge suffering to the people of the island.
Cuban representatives, astonished at the way Waltz blamed the victims for the crisis, in their eyes, stood up and objected, citing Rule 71, which allows listeners to raise a point of order.
Ambassador Waltz responded that the Cubans didn’t like the substance of his speech, so were not raising a point of order.
But when complaints continued, this caused Ambassador Waltz to lose his temper and shout “Back up! Back away. Do you understand what you’re dealing with? This is America.”
.
INTERNATIONAL TERRITORY
The rest of the United Nations was outraged by this attitude, as the UN building is legally international territory.
When Waltz refused to stop his tirade, Khalilur Rahman, chair of the 81st session, ordered that the meeting be instantly suspended. Waltz ignored him.
The meeting was then resumed, but footage of the argument created a huge storm on social media.
Some people in the US defended Waltz’s narrative, blaming Cubans for the suffering caused by the US embargos.
But much of the commentary from the rest of the world said that the United Nations, for the safety of the delegates and the organization itself, should no longer be situated in New York.
When New York was originally chosen as the site, the US pledged not to politicize US visa access to meetings—but has regularly broken the pledge, such as refusing to allow visas for Palestinians.

📺 “We reported events one-sidedly for years”: Serbian TV apologizes to viewers after Vučić's party loses the election
Radio Television of Vojvodina (RTV) opened its news broadcast with footage of celebrations following the Student List's election victory — scenes it had failed to show the previous evening.
“For years, we failed to fulfill our duty. We kept silent, turned a blind eye, reported events one-sidedly, and failed to ask the necessary questions. For that, we owe our viewers an apology,” news anchor Goran Eror said.
Following the controversy, RTV's acting editor-in-chief Nenad Čačić resigned.
A similar incident occurred in Hungary, where state television also apologized to viewers after Viktor Orbán's election defeat.
🎉🎉 Serbia celebrates Vučić's defeat all night — now he's warning the country about sanctions against Russia
After 14 years of Aleksandar Vučić's political dominance, his bloc has lost the snap parliamentary elections. The opposition Student List, which emerged from mass anti-government protests, has claimed victory.
According to preliminary figures from Ipsos and CeSID, the students secured around 53% of the vote, while Vučić's coalition received approximately 39%.
The former president acknowledged defeat. He estimated that the winners could secure 135–140 seats in Serbia's 250-member parliament.
But he couldn't resist issuing a warning about Russia. Vučić claimed the new government could impose sanctions on Moscow as early as March or April.
Meanwhile, Belgrade and other Serbian cities celebrated the student movement's victory throughout the night, with car horns, singing, and crowds cheering in the streets.
Final election results are still pending.

🚨 BREAKING: Mike Johnson in full panic mode after voting in his own race, declaring, "Too many Democrats are voting."
Wtf. Too many Democrats? Or too many voters Johnson doesn't like?
Conrad Cable is making him lose sleep in DEEP RED Louisiana and maybe even lose his seat.
More than 363,000 people voted in just five days of early voting, nearly matching the entire turnout from 2022.
But here's the thing… Democrats are outnumbering Republicans among early voters: 43% are registered Democrats, compared to 39% Republicans.
In October 2024, Republicans led early voting by roughly 36,000. This year, Democrats have the advantage.
And the clearest proof they're terrified is Johnson's insane comments about "too many Democrats voting" and Trump just having to endorse him again. Seriously, that looks like he's worried.
If Johnson doesn't hit 50% in the Nov 3rd elections, he's being forced into a runoff in Dec, which would set up a runoff against Conrad Cable.
Let's make it happen. Give Mike Johnson hell.
Support Conrad Cable. LFG!

Farage looks increasingly rattled by the £5m standards investigation.
Asked about it yesterday, he called the process a “farce” and sarcastically questioned the commissioner’s independence.
Classic move when you’re worried about the verdict: attack the referee before he blows the whistle.
If the verdict goes his way, will the commissioner suddenly become independent again? 🤔
🚨 Just as expected. The Kremlin is literally spitting in the faces of the leaders of Norway and Finland after their call with Putin
“Apparently, nothing new was said. This only shows the Europeans’ desire to force their way into the negotiation process,” Lavrov said.
The Russian foreign minister mockingly added that Europe has no chance of getting a seat at the negotiating table — because the EU “consistently condemns Russia and demands an end to the aggression, completely ignoring how it all began.”
That last part was particularly amusing. And how exactly did it all begin, I wonder?
🤔 Hmm. They planned to talk for 20 minutes — but ended up talking for an hour and a half: the call with Putin lasted 4.5 times longer than expected
According to NRK, the call between Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, and Putin was initially scheduled to last just 20 minutes. However, the conversation with the Russian dictator unexpectedly dragged on for a full hour and a half.
Stubb later commented on the talks, describing them as "professional and direct." He also stressed that the call had been coordinated with Ukraine and that key allies had been informed in advance. After speaking with Putin, Stubb and Støre held a phone call with Zelensky.
What do you think — should the leaders of Finland and Norway have called Putin?
