Lovely. He's met by her guards, who waste no time escorting him to one of the palace's many gardens. Selle is already seated, looking oddly peaceful.

😒

Sending @WhispersofWise an invitation to join her on Naboo for tea.

Her gaze lowers to his wrist. "I'm glad I can entertain you."

The touch makes her jaw tense, however subtle it may be. "Then what's so amusing?"

Her brows raise. "Did I say something funny?"

"I don't know." It's honest enough. "Bored, I suppose. Curious." Nosy.

"I couldn't say. Helping somebody requires knowing what's wrong, and a want to help them. I have neither."

Interesting. "Does that mean you'd reject my help if I *did offer it?"

"No. Curious. I can't say I've ever seen you so tense without taking it out on something." Gaze flickering briefly to his saber, then back.

Of course. She isn't stupid, remember? "Not enough murder or too much?"

There's a little sense most people have that tells them not to do the thing. Selle doesn't have one of those. She either doesn't notice how tense he is or she doesn't care, steps bringing her closer until she's just out of arm's length.

"I didn't ask." She brushes some of the falling snow off her sleeve and approaches him. Slowly. "It's a lie anyway, isn't it?"

She just...stares. There isn't much of anything in her expression; there rarely is. Just looking at him, a very slight tilt of her head the only real sign of her curiosity.

She's nearby, but not close enough to be seen as a threat. She isn't stupid, after all. Observing.
