Always nice when an alumna of your university is named “Most Powerful Woman in Business” by Fortune Magazine. Congrats Karen Lynch, CEO of CVS, BS, Carroll School of Management, @BostonCollege fortune.com/ranking/most-pow…
Tomorrow it will have been 12 years since #SteveJobs passed away. Resharing a reflection on how #Apple has impacted my life. Since then I’ve been teaching #Swift developers, hopefully helping others leverage Apple to reach their goals. Soar! 🦅 #ADE2023 gallaugher.com/rungs-on-the-…
Former American Idol contestant Jax shows how TikTok changes the vitality game. Learn how "I know Victoria's Secret," a feminist anthem and scathing critique of the firm, went wildly viral, leveraging that platform's ability to share and remix content. open.substack.com/pub/profga…
Do you teach Social Media? Here's a quick, stats-loaded pice on "The Swiftening" w/Taylor Swift/Travis Kelce. This'll be in v.10 of my textbook Information Systems: A Manager's Guide to Harnessing Technology, published by FlatWorld (used at 450+ progs.). profgallaugher.substack.com/…

Are you learning #SwiftUI or #CircuitPython at YouTube.com/profgallaugher? If not, and you’d like to, give it a try. All university materials are free! Hope to see the #ADE2023 fam there, too! Your students will love it.
Ultra 2 is nice. Double tap won’t be enabled until iOS 10.1, though so don’t be surprised when it doesn’t work out of the box. Excited to dive with this next month!
Reading a lot on Social Media for updates of v10 of my IS textbook. Here's The Atlantic covering Bluesky: "Bluesky is siphoning off both Twitter’s most emotionally dysregulated users and its most committed shitposters." apple.news/ArX5lWLySSAeYa1SX…
The @MBTA D line has been a mess today. All of my waits were around 25 mins. or more. Off and on for express runs. The current plan for dealing with North Station - Gov Ctr shutdown isn’t working. Please fix. Thx.
If you are a UX designer looking for work, apparently Eddie Bauer needs some help with website search.
The @BostonCollege Dept of Human Centered Engineering is new, but already doing lots of wonderful things and is having a big impact on our campus, students, and the world at large. If you haven't see it - definitely check out the Dept.'s newsletter: mailchi.mp/0e142fb8600c/fall…
Dark mode isn’t best for everyone. I prefer white mode turned up to full brightness due to bad eyesight.
Former student & #BCSwiftTA @ligmachad is co-founder of mental health game @VoidPetNFT & was in the A16Z game accelerator earlier this year. The Heights recently profiled her great work. Be sure to check out her app! bcheights.com/2023/09/10/emo…
Oh. Apparently the VoidPet above is not the real Voidpet. Tagging @VoidpetGame instead. Even better, download it here! voidpet.com/

🦅@BostonCollege has "the only course in the country that allows students to learn how to be serious app developers in a single semester if you’ve never programmed before."
And it helped lead to BC alum Linda Shad's successful app Voidpet!
#WeAreBC @ligmachad @gallaugher
.@ligmachad was living in a “hacker house” near Silicon Valley, Calif. with several other coders when she said she had a mental breakdown. She channeled her emotions into drawings. These drawings soon became the basis of Shad’s app: Voidpet. bcheights.com/2023/09/10/emo…
All these dudes trying to creep around Apple supplier factories in China, but if you wanted the scoop on the latest products, apparently all you needed to do was go to a San Francisco Farmer's Market or hang out at the Pier.
I just backed this from @madmachineio on CrowdSupply. #Swift on microcontrollers would be fantastic. Would love to teach hardware with Swift. So hoping this takes off. crowdsupply.com/madmachine-l…
Have you sat in "The Lucky Chairs" at @BostonCollege? Fmr students who've sat in the chairs have built dozens of tech firms, creating billions in value. The secret isn't in chairs, it's in founder tenacity & the ability to build products. gallaugher.medium.com/the-lu… #entrepreneurship
