This morning I discovered a massive black hole in my finances.
Naturally, I gave my cleaner and gardener a 15% pay rise, ordered a brand-new Range Rover, ripped out my perfectly good boiler and replaced it with a heat pump.
I also handed a fortune to the neighbours and, to balance the books, threw my mum out onto the street.
Apparently, that’s how you fix a financial black hole.
The Labour Budget, brought to you by the people who think someone else is always going to pick up the bill.
I sadly travel via rail a lot but I will never travel via @LNER again.
I’m due a £50 refund, because of a late train, but they are doing all they can to dodge it. I’m not bothered about £50 it’s literally the principle and respect and the utter lack of it by their customer service team.
Rail is a joke in this country on the best of days.

I thought I had heard it all.
But someone describing Alastair Campbell as “honest and astute” really is quite something.
I wonder how the families of the estimated 150,000–600,000 Iraqi civilians who died in the Iraq War and its aftermath would react to that description?
The Iraq War and the infamous dodgy dossier remain a devastating part of New Labour's legacy.
Some people have remarkably short memories.
He is absolutely right! You should be arrested for your part in war crimes. It doesn’t matter what “six” enquiries have said, the general public who lived through that time are not stupid. You are an absolute disgrace Alastair!
I have heard it from far better people than you and they were wrong too. What I enjoyed was seeing you running away from an argument about Brexit because you would rather talk about anything else. And I loved the smile being wiped from your face when the young woman tore apart your net zero BS. You’ve not nice suits and nice shoes but you’ve got
more chance captaining the Sri Lankan cricket team than you have of becoming Home Secretary.

We can’t help our elderly, we can’t afford police stations in our towns, we can’t afford to allow our armed forces to practice war game scenarios, we can’t afford new prisons or hospitals… and our taxes are at 85 year highs.

🚨 NEWS: The British Government has committed another £54 million to help Ukraine through winter as households across the UK face continued pressure from energy bills.
The package, announced by Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband, includes:
• £20 million for energy infrastructure repairs, generators and power supplies.
• £34 million for heating, water services and humanitarian support.
The Government's latest figures put total UK commitments to Ukraine at £25 billion.
With British families also facing financial pressures this winter, questions remain over how ministers balance overseas commitments with support at home.

THE FOREVER WAR
Your money. Their war. No limit.
£25 BILLION of British public money to Ukraine since 2022. And the billions keep going.
Who else wants a full, independent audit of every penny we've spent on Ukraine?
Where did it go? Who received it? Who profited?
Before Westminster signs another blank cheque, let's see the bloody receipts.

Sunderland was built by miners, shipbuilders and generations of hardworking patriots.
They broke their backs, risked their lives and sacrificed everything to give their children and grandchildren a better future.
So why are their descendants now treated with contempt in the very city their ancestors built?
Why should hardworking families put up with crime, declining communities and lectures from sanctimonious politicians and taxpayer-funded activists?
Our ancestors didn’t build this great city for their legacy to be trampled on by a political class completely detached from ordinary working people.
British people first. British industry first. Criminals punished. Our heritage defended. Taxpayers respected.
I’m not interested in appeasing the status quo and nor should I be.
