after researching human relationships and building 7 social products the past 4 years, here are my 10 wildest bets on the future of human relationships:
we see more and more crazy stuff on x now like reverse engineering everything, hacking every hardware, new kinds of models releasing, ..... but this is just absolutely nuts. gpt-3 moment for software 2.0 馃く
opus 5 to opus 5.5 is a bigger leap than gpt-3 to gpt-5. hands down the first perfect model.
i still remember when fable 5 first came out, one prompt could burn my 5 hour limit. now i cant even touch the limit with 15 sessions running in parallel. the work quality is the same if not better. remember fable 5 was released just 4 months ago.
barely anyone understands this speed of improvement, let alone adapting to it
and my ai can help you 10x your body count without becoming a worse engineer

(9) family will become less obligatory but more meaningful. kinship will begin the relationship; continued closeness will be chosen.
as material security and routine care depend less on relatives, adult family relationships will be maintained more freely. chosen communities will give people other sources of belonging, making inherited ties something they actively choose to continue. family will retain the value of shared history and continuity that a new relationship cannot instantly reproduce. the relationships people preserve will express affection and a desire to remain part of one another's lives.
(10) monogamy will lose its moral superiority. exclusivity and lifelong partnership will become personal preferences rather than universal expectations.
as security, care, and belonging become available through more relationship arrangements, the conventional couple will lose its claim to being the universally right way to live. people will become accustomed to fulfilling lives built around different forms of intimacy and commitment. exclusivity will remain meaningful for those who choose it, while honesty, consent, and honoring chosen promises carry moral weight across arrangements. a relationship's structure will no longer determine its moral rank.
