Thanks to the staff at Eureka Weather Station for keeping our science going and for letting us take part in theirs. There really is no better place to run a campaign from my perspective. We’ll be back.

All packed up for the sealift south this summer. A lot went into this campaign and we are spent. Sad to be leaving but looking forward to the journey ahead. – at Baffin, Unorganized, Nunavut

Lots of exposed surface on the second-year ice near Nansen Sound. The refrozen melt ponds are a stunning blue.

As with all fieldwork, failures are part of the process. After finally getting our drones airborne (this involved many hot packs and elastics), the LiDAR navigation sub-system refused to work and we struck out on data. Back to base to regroup and hope for some warmer weather.

We are a week into our campaign today and will be switching gears to work with our LiDAR drone. The manufacturer says it’s -40 rated and it looks like we will be testing that 🥶 – at Baffin, Unorganized, Nunavut

I tried to call CAA but they don’t take collect calls from a sat phone apparently. Had to settle for a long tow rope ride instead. – at Baffin, Unorganized, Nunavut
