I've had my @gmail account for about 20 years, and a few times over those years it's warned me I was using up my space, so I went in and deleted a bunch, and then it was quiet again for years. Now it's constantly after me. I do less with email than ever, but it keeps filling...
It's really feeling like a ploy to get me to pay. It told me I was at 99% for weeks, yet never went over that, so I finally went in and deleted a ton, and got it down to around 93%, and now, a couple of weeks later, it's warning me I'm back up to 99%. There's no way.
Does anyone know how exactly it is that Google has fallen so far from its former glory? 10+ years ago, it felt like it was reading my mind, and now, I can't get it to find ANYTHING I'm looking for. I can dictate a 20-word title of a page, and it doesn't find it. It's useless now.
Went out to dinner tonight, and thought this meant the Maryland Chicken could be either fried or with cream sauce, and was trying to decide which I wanted. Then mom said she was thinking about getting the fried chicken with cream sauce, and I said "both?" #Haskellbrain #sumtypes
The problem is even worse than I thought, and I thought it was bad. I think we need a new term. AI does not generate content. It generates nontent. I'm calling it "AI nontent" going forward.
The Shop app is so awful, I'm just boycotting any company that wants me to track my order with it from now on. "Track your order with the Shop app!" Cancel my order; you're dead to me.
I receive spam debt relief messages to my voicemail every single day now, more than a dozen, and they completely fill my voicemail daily. I've been blocking and reporting as spam each one for a while now, but only just learned there's no way to block them from leaving a message😢
Huge pet peeve: limiting zoom in browsers and photo apps. Just let me keep zooming in if I want to. Stop making me take 3 screen caps, finding each in my photos, one after another, to finally zoom in enough for whatever my needs are.
Found the CD to the old mobo I also found recently, in it's original box. The CD was hiding in this origami on my old CD shelves.
And a video of the satisfying opening: origami.oschene.com/archives…
Everyone always has some crazy explanation, like "I use Vim, because it runs everywhere," but most of the time, I just want all that power to throw together whatever dumb thought pops into my head—like this timeline of Menudo members—while lazily watching TV.
Picasso was born Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Ruiz y Picasso, but his tech friends referred to him as P120o.
