This study found that the hyperaemic stenosis resistance (HSR) index is more accurate than fractional flow reserve (FFR) and coronary flow reserve (CFR) in identifying ischemia-inducing coronary lesions. Additionally, an abnormal HSR measurement was a strong predictor of long-term target vessel failure. The authors conclude that incorporating combined pressure and flow measurements, as provided by HSR, could improve risk stratification of coronary lesions during invasive angiography.
