Tonight @NASA will crash an uncrewed spacecraft into an asteroid. On purpose.
Yes, you read that correctly. And no, this is not a movie plot.
The #DARTmission is the world’s first mission to test technology for defending Earth against potential asteroid or comet hazards!

Exciting day for the space community
We can't contain the excitement for @NASAWebb's first full-color images!
On Monday, July 11 at 5pm ET (21:00 UTC), President Biden will unveil one of the space telescope's first images of deep space as a preview of what's ahead: go.nasa.gov/3NUQ8Dx
ALT The Webb telescope's primary mirror is inside a facility laying on its side, with engineers in white protective suits. The mirror's two wings that give it its honeycomb shape are not deployed in this image. Its secondary mirror, held by a long boom, is deployed in front of the primary mirror. The primary mirror is made up of multiple hexagonal mirrors assembled into one shape, and are covered in gold.

Sebastian: This was the first launch that I was a part of while working at SpaceX. It was such a fun time in mission control. Hugging everyone and anyone around you to celebrate this huge milestone! Congrats @SpaceX let's get to Mars!
It's really hard to comprehend that it was 6 years ago today when SpaceX landed their rocket for the first time ever in history. Before that reusable rockets were basically science fiction. Thanks to SpaceX & @elonmusk for turning sci-fi to reality.
What an incredible opportunity to help inspire kids and make space more accessible to everyone. Thank you @blueorigin and @clubforfuture for sending these postcards to space!

Amazing work
#Webb was fuelled @EuropeSpacePort!
Its thrusters will use this propellant to make critical course-corrections, to repoint, and manage its momentum during operations.
Next step: #Webb will be placed on @Ariane5 and encapsulated in the fairing 🚀
