Their greed knows no bounds.
News: Dustin Johnson and 10+ other LIV players are rallying together in the hopes of negotiating with the PIF for their claims that total $100 million+ They seek "severance payments" and are not expected to sign the RSA in its current form. @TheAthletic nytimes.com/athletic/7720038…

Per recently filed court documents, LIV Golf executives were paid out nearly $15 million in retention payments in the months leading up to the bankruptcy filing. These payments are intended to retain key employees throughout the restructuring period. A lot of the ugly side of bankruptcy is generally written off as "ugly, but commonplace". Things like unpaid leases, payment lapses in contracts, things like that. It's all ugly, but not out of the norm for companies going through this process. But for that to be happening while executives were taking 6, and in many instances 7 figure payments in addition to their regular salary, is concerning. For small businesses to go unpaid, for fan-forward features to be turned off, for concerts that people had paid for to be cancelled, that's all problematic. And for all of that to happen while the outward messaging is one of understanding, of building a sustainable business, of wanting to make these small businesses whole so that they can continue working with them in the future. I fully understand the need for some of this. If you lose the CEO, CFO, or president during a restructuring period, it could be an insurmountable setback. But some of the amounts are excessive, and some of the employees non-essential. In fact, there are employees that received large retention payments that I have on multiple occasions specifically named as people that hold LIV back from being as good as it could be. LIV is great because it was fan-forward, it was different, they had a certain energy about them. That's what needs to come back out of this restructuring, if anything. Passionate employees working nonstop to build the best possible product for the fans, for the players, and for the game. Not this. This is Jay Monahan cutting tour cards while taking millions in bonuses and making "donations" to his own kids ritzy private school type stuff.

Eddie Pepperell is projected #101 down from #99. Katsurugawa is flying in 2nd so certain to pass him. Crocker is T49 projected #100 just 2.5 points ahead of Eddie. Any slight Sunday drop from Crocker e.g. a T51.. puts Eddie back in, barring very low rounds by Wu/Halvorsen/BRT.
For those on Pepperell watch, Soderberg needs to make the cut to overtake him in the R2D but currently lies 113th having shot +5. Crocker is next and he's just outside the top 50. Katsurugawa (-2, 10th currently) would be projected to knock Eddie down to 100th as things stand.

Honestly, after this, the @livgolf_league deserves to fold, and all its players should leave. Many golfers (ill-advised, but all of them have their responsibility) placed their trust in people who simply lined their own pockets, while forgetting about those who were genuinely trying to push LIV Golf forward as best they could. What we saw here from @ScottONeil and @SharkGregNorman is scandalous and repulsive. They’ve harmed the sport, all while looking out for their own bank accounts. It will be hard to erase that stain. P.S. : Someday, I’ll talk about the scandalous and pathetic group of people surrounding the Australian...
LIV Golf executives were making millions AFTER Saudi Arabia pulled out while the league was stiffing blue-collar companies and individuals for work they already did

Ripper, wow thats low
Some interesting data from the most recent court filings. Numbers are gross revenue for each LIV Golf team over the past 3 seasons. 2026 numbers are through 8/31/26.

Not even a dedicated thank you to LIV, his team, the staff, anybody. The idiots just gave these selfish jerks millions upon millions, for absolutely nothing!
Ryder Cup hero Tyrrell Hatton has also confirmed he is leaving LIV Golf.

One thing to remember as an avalanche of ex-LIV return to the DPWT is that despite them seeing it as the route back to the PGATour, it’s not going to be easy. Some will fail, repeatedly. Some will never make it back. There’s going to be a lot of good players & not enough spots..
I have to say, some of the Liv players coming back to play DP is actually cool as some really good players, but hilarious how some of them slammed the tour for so long, not one good thing to say about it, now it’s the best thing since sliced bread and feels like coming home 🤔

This is an epic Friday news dump for LIV players.
Branden Grace has told Supersport SA that he is joining his captain Louis Oosthuizen and leaving LIV Golf. Branden was a member of the all South African Southern Guards GC and plans to return to the DP World Tour in 2027.

Not every player is going to be as happy as Ewen that so many are returning. It is potentially going to cost some of them tournament spots.

Incredible that Rippers & Southern Guards, seen as the most content and loyal of the LIV teams are disintigrating by the minute. And there’s going to be a few players on the DPWT very unhappy about so many LIV guys coming back so easily.
Lucas Herbert, an integral member of the all Australian Ripper GC on LIV Golf, has confirmed to me he is leaving the league to play on the DP World Tour in 2027. Lucas won twice on the LIV Golf League this season and shot an historic 62 at Royal Birkdale on his way to a T6 at The Open. He is also the third highest ranked Australian in the world and will be a huge asset to the DP World Tour next season.

Correct, zero insight Luke. Poulter & Co will never be Ryder Cup captain, that ship has sailed. There is a sufficient pipeline of future captains and @RyderCupEurope will never risk sending the train off the tracks by going down the ex-LIV route.
I have no insight here, but now pushing towards 51, Poults is happy with the totality of his career & will likely play some Senior golf/majors & get back into the Ryder Cup fold where he’ll rightfully lead EUR as Captain.

Evergreen post 👇 “The level of greed, dishonesty & blatant self interest on display from these LIV guys is both hilarious & tragic. They possess zero self-awareness of how this all looks. Quite a trick to be disloyal to the Tour(s) that made you AND the one you left it for”.

Can see it now.. “I’m happy Bryson is out, LIV 2.0 needs to build around a new star”
LIV Weirdos immediately turn on Poulter as per usual. That’s how a cult works: you are either in or you are out.

Louis Oosthuizen, captain of the all South African Southern Guards GC on the LIV Golf League has announced he will not commit to LIV Golf 2.0 Speaking to the South China Morning Post ahead of the Link Hong Kong Open, Louis said: “It’s time to move on… It’s a lot of international travel for single events.” He then went on to talk about getting himself ready to compete at St Andrews next year for The Open: “I’ve had some success at majors, but you work and play to have a sniff of that again. I’m at a different stage of my golfing life (from when he won The Open) but it’s pretty sweet when you still get called the Open Champion. “I hope to get my body and my game in a place next year (to be able to compete in majors)… the Open is at a course I love and where I’ve won. The goal is to get my game as sharp as possible, to have myself ready, then see how it goes.” League sources have told me Southern Guards GC was one franchise where the leadership were originally expecting all players to commit to the new enterprise if it happens, so this will be a huge blow if Louis does move on. Best listen in golf, bar none. Could listen to Butch forever. Absolute legend. And get that man in the Golf Hall of Fame this year, it’s a travesty he’s not.
Butch Harmon joined the pod for a wide-ranging conversation on one of the most interesting golf careers of all time. We touch on his time coaching Tiger, Phil, Greg Norman and a ton of great stories. Available now. Presented by @Titleist.

How much equity in the $1 billion team value of the Stingers is he leaving on the table? And does this mean Burmy and Hot Charl get the rights to the Rhino Jive? #LIVGolf
LIV has lost another team captain. Louis Oosthuizen announced that he will be returning to the DP World Tour in a move he calls “The hardest decision of his professional career.”

“It’s time to move on… It’s a lot of international travel for single events.” The lack of loyalty to the idea, the “grow the game” they banged on about for 4 years is shocking* *Not shocking. They went to LIV for the bag. The money’s gone, they’re gone. The end.

It’s been reported multiple times already, but so many players are leaving that I just don’t see how LIV Golf 2.0 can possibly fill the fields next year. Image courtesy of @asiantourgolf
