Thank you all for your patience! It’s been a while since we saw a delay in pinning down exact dates for the next World Scientific Congress of Golf. We are delighted to announce that the next congress will be on October 23rd and 24th 2027 at the TPI HQ in Oceanside, CA, USA.

I graded AI on the 4 places it's supposed to save tax pros time, based on one question: Does it actually save me time after I check its work? Tax research: C+ for generic AI. Moves up to an A when the sources are cited and easy to check. Organizing client data: A-. Saves me 15-20 minutes per project, but I still check every number. Tax planning: D for generic AI. By the time I prompted it enough to get a real idea, I could have worked through the scenarios myself. Return prep: Incomplete. Half my clients have a Schedule C or E, and nothing I've seen can finish a full return without a human in the loop yet. I also put Thomson Reuters' CoCounsel Tax, Ready to Advise, and Ready to Review to the test to see where they outperform generic AI. Thanks to @TRTaxAccounting for sponsoring this one. If you want tax research answers with the citation right there, check out CoCounsel Tax (see link in reply): I also post a tax research prompt for you to use below. What grade would you give AI in your firm?

this might be my last normal tweet before biotech goes vertical i'm not a whistleblower. I don't work at Lilly, Novo or any of the big labs but there is a massive shift happening in human biology right now. it's sitting in press releases and almost nobody reads them the last 6 months alone: - a once-daily pill roughly doubled median survival in metastatic pancreatic cancer (13.2 vs 6.6 months) - a one-time gene editing infusion cut hereditary angioedema attacks 87%, and 62% of patients stayed attack-free and off all other prevention for 6 months - a one-time gene edit for cholesterol dropped LDL up to 62%, and it held for over a year - a personalized mrna vaccine beat keytruda alone in a 1,137 patient melanoma phase 3 - retatrutide hit ~28% weight loss in a phase 3 - an ai-designed drug entered phase 3 - a pill that regrows hair passed its second phase 3 - an immunotherapy that could let some rectal cancer patients skip surgery, chemo and radiation just got fda approved - a man lived 271 days off dialysis on a pig kidney - human cells were caught passing chromosome-sized chunks of DNA to their neighbors, and it changes how the neighbors behave we are on the verge of an era where the human body is a software problem and the update cycle gets shorter everyday stick around, it's going to get weird bio/acc

ChatGPT help me create a client letter today. The font choice was preventing me from printing to PDF. It took nine efforts to finally clear out Aptos fully from that document….. I don’t know what I would do if I was still billing by the hour. Hit the client account with “couldn’t figure out how to get your ChatGPT written letter into a usable format for 45 minutes”

I set up Trump Accounts for my daughters yesterday. It was surprisingly easy to do. The website is pretty slick. I was honestly impressed. Was expecting typical federal government ineptitude. Was not interested in Trump Accounts at all. This is for my 12 year-old Greta. Ideally, she’ll have some money in this account when she turns 18 and we will convert to a Roth Ira. May need to spread out the conversion over a few years. Tax tip: upon conversion to a Roth, for a teenager, always say no to any income tax withholding to come right out of the IRA. It’s treated as an early distribution subject to penalty.

Strike quality is so underrated. People will work on things that move the needle much less and almost ignore it. And improving your strike quality will self-organize other improvements that matter - like face to path. In The Strike Plan, I go through all the drills you need to see quick improvements, while sowing the seeds for long-term gains too. Learn more here - adamyounggolf.com/the-strike…

4 small accounting firms. Real AI workflows: One Stop CPA paired Blue J tax research with ChatGPT Enterprise to turn complex multi-state M&A questions into memos in 2 hours instead of days. Agate CPA used Lovable and Claude to build custom website intake forms, boosting conversions by 25% for almost zero cost. Public Trust CPA built a Power Automate + ChatGPT workflow to route vendor invoices straight into QuickBooks with signed docs attached. High Rock Accounting built its own client satisfaction tracker in 5 hours using Claude Code, replacing a paid software tool entirely. These firms picked one annoying, repetitive task and automated it: youtube.com/live/G2xfT5RT9i0…

To my fellow #TaxTwitter compatriots: The October 15th offensive has officially ended. We’ve survived on caffeine, rage, and an unreasonable amount of profanity. Today, we emerge from our bunkers and reacquaint ourselves with sunlight.

When we were in school, no one would ever turn in an assignment a week before the deadline… you would turn in that shit at the last possible second. If you go into Tax accounting, you better have been the type of kid who could handle writing a 10 page essay at midnight the night before it was due.

You know you are a Tax nerd if you can see a bank routing number and recognize the bank. Client will try to put the routing number in the account number field and I’m like hell no that’s Wells Fargo my guy I would recognize that anywhere

EY is paying employees up to $25,000 to catch their own AI's mistakes. They’re calling it a bonus for "human checks". But let's call it what it is: a bounty program for AI slop. This comes right after all four Big Four firms faced major incidents involving fabricated AI citations in their consulting divisions. We talk about it on Episode 504 of The Accounting Podcast: youtube.com/live/s2wn65xfdsE…

If you’re going call yourself a high-end Tax planner trashing CPAs in your ads, you better have spent at least a decade actually doing high-end client work…. Otherwise you’re like a golf teacher who has never broken 90.
