The "Xiong'an Cup" Gathers Over 850 Young Players in the City of the Future! ⚪⚫ How can a traditional game nurture the hearts of the next generation? The answer was just on display in Xiong'an! From October 1 to 4, the inaugural 2026 “Xiong’an Cup” National Youth Go Open was held in the Xiong’an New Area — a brand-new city near Beijing, built from scratch since 2017 and often called China’s “City of the Future.” More than 850 young players from over 20 provinces across China made the trip, and the tournament was opened by Chang Hao, world champion and president of the Chinese Weiqi Association. Divided into five age groups, these young competitors showed incredible dedication.
