ALT Political graphic with a red background and the headline “CONTINUITY” in large white capital letters at the top. The central image combines half of Rachel Reeves’ face on the left with half of John Healey’s face on the right, creating one merged portrait. On the left, the text reads “RACHEL REEVES 2025”. On the right, it reads “JOHN HEALEY 2026”. Beneath both names are five identical statements, each accompanied by a white cross: NO WEALTH TAX NO RENT FREEZE NO PUBLIC OWNERSHIP OF WATER NO MAJOR INVESTMENT IN CLIMATE RESILIENCE STICKING TO SELF-IMPOSED FISCAL RULES The lower half of the image gradually fades to black to make the white text more visible. The graphic highlights the Green Party's criticism that both Labour Budgets follow the same approach despite the change of Chancellor.

ALT Over the past year, we have been consulting our members about the policy changes they want to see. Mainstream Members prioritised four changes where we want real, practical shifts in this week’s budget: 1) a fairer tax system, taxing the wealth of the richest to provide the resources we need for our communities; 2) a fairer housing market, including proportionate controls on high rents and an increase in social housing; 3) a ‘productive’ economy that is more equal and sustainable, with government enabling a social stake in the provision of essential services and infrastructure through public corporations at national and local level; 4) plans for democratic ownership of water and other public utilities. People can’t afford to simply wait till the next election for change.
