Positioning matters. It should not be a surprise that the NASDAQ $QQQ is struggling a bit. And may for a while as this starts to unwind.

The vast amount of AI video slop that will be created will bore even the biggest nerds and get them off of the couch and into nature or to live events. Long reality.

Will this be a common theme moving forward as we get closer to a white-collar recession? Microsoft offers buyouts to ~60K workers, including VPs, in new cost-cutting push. Microsoft has shed tens of thousands of workers through multiple rounds of layoffs in recent years. Microsoft shares closed 2% higher following the announcement. $MSFT

When it comes to trading and investing we have more information than ever before. By a long shot. But, how much of it is actually useful? How much of it can be trusted? A great example is Brazil. There was a very good case to be bullish Brazil and one of the main reasons was a leadership change. Lula da Silva was showing a 20% chance of winning just a week ago. 🤷‍♂️ $EWZ
there's always a bull market somewhere and after the first round i said brazil looked like the start of one. this morning $EWZ is on course for its worst day since it launched in 2000. shit happens. but normally not like this. the polls said coin toss. 51 to 49. the polls were right. the money said sure thing. 4 to 1 on flávio. the gap is the whole story. the kind markets aren't supposed to leave lying around. in the 3 weeks before the vote, $4.1bn went into $EWZ. nearly a third of the fund. polymarket still had flávio at 82% on the afternoon of the vote. 9 minutes after the polls closed, it had lula ahead. was polymarket used as an agent of mass destruction? everyone leaned on it. the bolsa took comfort from the foreigners and the foreigners took comfort from the bolsa. i called that price discovery. and there was history. since democracy came back, nobody had won a brazilian runoff after finishing second in round one. i priced precedent, and precedent lost. the lambs thought we were pricing brazil. we slept beautifully on saturday night. but we were pricing each other. lesson noted.
