I just sarcastically called one of my agents “Captain Obvious” and they swiftly replied with “Admiral Apparent. I’ve been promoted.”
Sheesh.

tfw you run half the internet and your complex security key is actually just “4”

eMudhra, an Indian certificate authority, has had 8 private security keys compromised with half the internet is cooked
The keys were incredibly weak. One of them was literally just “4”
The keys could have been used to create fake HTTPS certificates and make malicious websites appear legitimate.
Chrome, Firefox, Apple and Microsoft have blocked the affected certificates. Older devices, software and apps may still need updates.
Something I heard recently that I can’t stop thinking about is if aliens exist and reincarnation is real then why don’t we ever reincarnate somewhere else?
I’m just a boy, sitting across from a girl, thinking about how weird it is that water freezes faster at room temperature than it does cold.
what if the aliens are advanced enough that they know we’re all living in a simulation and so they’re super depressed and are like “just let the earthlings live their lives none of it matters anyway!” and that’s why we never see them
This is just poorly worded messaging from Anthropic, right? We don’t get totally separate Fable usage this has always been to show how it uses your overall tokens faster. I felt like there used to be a better explainer here.
Wait why don’t we also get hammered and barbecue on September 17th every year?? We love reasons to do that!
I don't really understand why every single news outlet is giving this guy a platform to spread fear without at least also allowing someone to provide a counter to his argument.
Jacob Coxon's next interview on CBS News (ex Anthropic+Open AI researcher who resigned)
"We can't just unplug it because it could be copying itself over to other computers. Like it's not that difficult to find yourself because an AI is just code. It could transfer itself over the internet to a different place and then you unplug it here, but it's actually still over there and maybe it makes 10,000 copies of itself and they're all cooperating."
