I swear to God my Boomer parents are beyond help. My mom's Blu-ray player died last week so we got her a new one. I set it up and as soon as I leave she's texting me asking me if I know where the remote is for it. I say no, you literally had it when I left. So after a week she still can't find it so we buy her a universal remote and I go over to program it because I know she can't. And as I'm there she walks in with this other remote and says do you know what this is for? And it's literally the remote for the blu ray player. Her excuse, it looks different than the other one so I didn't think it was the right one. Facedesk
Didn't realize this post was going to blow up, for all you armchair doctors out there, no my mom doesn't have Alzheimer's. She doesn't have cognitive decline, I went through that with my grandmother when I cared with her for 5 years. I know what it is. And you cry babies acting like I'm being mean to my mom just because I simply expressed frustration can fuck off. My dad had the exact same reaction when I told him what my mom had done. Guess I'm just going to mute this post because the amount of replies is ridiculous.
For all the people thinking I'm trashing on my mom, I'm not. It was just frustrating when you work 50-60 hours a week and have to spend your day off driving across town to try to fix a problem that wasn't there.
