You'll see the Laffer Curve in action:
The City of Albany years ago chased employers into the suburbs with its "homesteading" tax scheme that drove up office rents. Multiple state bailouts later, it again has money problems, and now the Common Council wants to impose an income tax on commuters.

RCSD's Board had demonstrated a complete lack of competence at nearly everything it has done since my kids start at a City school back in 1989. Nothing has changed, and thousands of children have been abandoned by that revolving door of morons.
RCSD is preparing to shift away from using Rochester Police officers for school safety and rely on internal security instead. Kristi Blake breaks down RCSD's school safety plan on News10NBC TODAY at the top of every half hour. whec.com/livestream/

In 1981, when I was working a few blocks away at St Mary's Hospital, the City of Rochester came up with the stupid "woonerf" idea. The late D&C touted it as brilliant. Genesee Street was bad then. It's worse 45 yrs later, yet the city wasted money putting up a new sign.

Suffolk taxpayers: why are my property taxes so high? Suffolk pols: no Mr. 47-year-old retiree, we wouldn't dream of making you contribute toward your family coverage. Can I count on the PBAs support in November?
Suffolk reaches a healthcare agreement with its unions that includes $0 premiums for all retirees but increased copays for GLP-1 weight-loss drugs and higher out-of-network costs. newsday.com/news/health/suff…

The 80s & 90s were decades of American recovery from the failed Nixon/Carter years, and Reagan's policies helped finish off the Soviet Union, freeing over 100 million from communist oppression in eastern and central Europe. Truly a great time for the world.
He was 3 and living in Canada in 1980, and knows shit about that decade. I was an adult and living in the United States. The 80s were a decade of rebounding prosperity and national pride. The 80s and most of the 90s will probably be remembered as the peak of American of power and productivity. He's pissed because the 80s were a decade of Republican presidents and American dominance.

Not to beat a dead horse but Albany has missed a very consequential change. Quebec used to be a major energy supplier to NY. In the last few years (partially due to droughts & greater electrification) Hydro-Quebec has become NY's biggest electricity buyer.
