I love bringing home kippahs from Bar/Bat Mitzvahs I go to. Building a little collection, a drawer full of moments of joy in my community. Years from now, I won't have a clue who some of these kids (correction: *not* kids anymore) are.
But a fragment of their simcha will live in my house forever.
Some day, my child will bring home a partner who will need to borrow one while we light candles. They'll grab a random one from the drawer and put it on.
