As AI agents expand across different blockchains, businesses need to know who stands behind an agent without exposing sensitive personal or business information.
This is where @Concordium’s privacy-preserving verification comes in. The Verified by @Concordium badge helps link agents to verified individuals or businesses while keeping private identity details protected.
The badge works on 200+ chains, and 8004scan displays it on eligible ERC-8004 agent profiles.
An on-chain profile can prove an agent exists, but it doesn’t automatically establish accountability. Connecting an agent’s identity to a verified owner helps businesses make more informed decisions when agents interact with services or handle transactions.
The real value is balancing privacy, accountability, and interoperability as AI agents become more active across Web3.

Your AI agent can operate on any supported chain.
But can others verify who’s behind it?
With @8004_scan now displaying the “Verified by Concordium” badge, eligible agents can show they’re linked to a verified human or business, without exposing personal data.

8004scan now supports @Concordium’s “Verified by Concordium” badge.
The integration makes Concordium verification visible on eligible ERC-8004 agent profiles.

AI agents can now discover services, make payments, and transact autonomously.
But there’s one question a wallet address can’t answer:
Who’s accountable when something goes wrong?
That’s the gap Concordium and @XDCNetwork are closing. 🧵

Replying to @Concordium
@Concordium is starting to look less like “just another L1” and more like infrastructure for the agentic economy.
The @XDCNetwork AI integration is a strong example: agents can already discover services and pay in USDC, but payment alone doesn’t answer the most important question.
Who is accountable for the agent?

One of the biggest questions about AI agents isn't what they can do. It's who takes responsibility when something goes wrong.
Think about it for a moment.
An AI agent could buy a service, pay another agent, or handle a transaction for a business. But if it makes a costly mistake, how does the other party know who is behind it?
Seeing that a payment went through doesn't answer that question, and simply knowing that an AI agent exists doesn't tell you who authorised it to act.
This is a problem worth solving if we want people and businesses to trust AI agents with real responsibilities.
But there's an important difference we need to understand.
Verifying who owns an AI agent is not the same as guaranteeing how it will behave.
Think of a company hiring an employee. You can verify the person's identity and confirm who they work for, but that doesn't guarantee they will never make a mistake. The same applies to AI agents.
Verifying the owner gives other people a way to establish who stands behind the agent and who may be held accountable for its actions.
It doesn't mean the agent will always follow instructions, make the right decisions, or spend money responsibly.
A verified agent can still make mistakes. Its owner still needs to set appropriate limits and monitor what it does.
This is the gap @Concordium and @XDCNetwork are working to address, which is giving AI agents a way to transact while making it easier to establish who stands behind them.
XDC Network's XDC AI marketplace allows AI agents to discover services and pay for them in USDC using the x402 payment standard.
Concordium brings an identity verification layer into this environment, giving agents a way to connect their activity to a verified owner.
XDC Network has selected Concordium as the exclusive identity verification layer for XDC AI. What's particularly interesting is that this goes beyond individual agents choosing to get verified. It's Concordium's first full-network agent registry integration.
Here's how it works:
The person or business behind an agent completes an identity check using a passport and a liveness check. They then link their XDC wallet and register the agent.
Concordium issues a Verified by Concordium badge that others can check to confirm that a verified owner stands behind the agent, without exposing the owner's personal details onchain.
The agent keeps its existing XDC wallet and continues operating on XDC Network. It doesn't need to move its activities to Concordium.
However, the badge doesn't guarantee that the agent will always make the right decisions or behave as expected. It establishes a link to a verified owner, while permissions, safeguards, and monitoring help manage the agent's behaviour.
As AI agents take on more responsibilities, we need to look beyond their ability to complete transactions. We also need ways to establish who stands behind them when things go wrong.
The real question is no longer just whether an AI agent can complete a transaction. It's whether we can establish who is accountable for it.
So, there's more to building trust in AI agents than simply giving them the ability to transact.

A €0.01 network fee sounds tiny, until you can’t pay it because you only hold stablecoins.
@Concordium supports 10 stablecoins across five currencies as Protocol-Level Tokens. With sponsored transactions, businesses can cover fees so users don’t need CCD just to pay.
The asset you hold shouldn’t be the reason your payment gets stuck. That’s what I like about @Concordium.

Visa moved $14.2 trillion in FY2025.
257.5 billion transactions.
And how many customers had to buy a separate token just to cover the network fee?
Zero.
That’s the kind of experience onchain payments need.
On Concordium, Sponsored Transactions make it possible.

AI can act. But who answers for its actions?
For me, this is where the next stage of Web3 becomes interesting. $CCD have spent years building infrastructure for transferring value, but transferring value and establishing trust are two different problems.
An address can identify where a transaction came from without proving who authorised the action behind it. As autonomous agents become more capable, that gap becomes harder to ignore.
This is the problem @Concordium is working to address: connecting AI agents to verified humans or businesses, while allowing necessary identity checks without exposing private personal information. Its Agent Registry is designed to make that accountability verifiable, including for agents operating on other chains.
The bigger question for Web3 is whether we can build an economy where agents have the freedom to act, users retain control, and responsibility does not disappear when something goes wrong.
My view: autonomy without accountability creates risk. Autonomy with verifiable trust creates room for adoption.
The future will need more than smarter agents. It will need infrastructure that makes trusting them a reasonable decision.

The transaction still uses CCD. The sender just doesn’t need to hold it.
A small distinction with big implications for stablecoin payments and AI agents.

An AI agent can now make decisions, execute tasks, and even carry out transactions on your behalf. But if something goes wrong, do you know who is responsible?
This is why identity and accountability matter as AI becomes more involved in our daily lives.
@Concordium is building the trust infrastructure to help verify who is behind an AI agent and what it’s authorized to do, without losing sight of accountability.
Because giving AI the ability to act is only one part of the story. We also need to know who authorized those actions and who stands behind them.
AI can act. But trust, identity, and accountability must come first.
