Tbf it took me a very long time to understand that a lot of my past experiences were actually traumatic. I feel like people think trauma only happens after very extreme and tragic events, but a lot of completely normalized situations can lead to trauma.

Okay but I want to share my take on this: parasocial relationships are a neutral thing, they're not inherently good or bad. We associate negative connotations with the term bc we mostly see it discussed in the context of unhealthy parasocial relationships.
I find it interesting that a lot of people want movies that discuss nuanced and complex topics, but dislike it when the characters are portrayed like actual people
